Villa to Man Chester?

Late night reports suggested Manchester United are all set to launch a bid for Valencia's David Villa.

This update comes up despite Valencia's statement which revealed, "Despite our financial issues, we wish to keep David at the club."

David Villa's agent earlier revealed Villa would be happy to stay at the Mestalla, despite attracting interest from Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Manchester United.

United were earlier interested in signing Dimitar Berbatov, but Tottenham's overvaluation has frustrated the Red Devils who are now looking elsewhere for other options.

Manchester United have two options open for them either they could launch a £24 million bid for the Spaniard or they could offer Louis Saha and £18 million for Euro 2008's top scorer.

A source reveals "United are working hard to keep Saha fit so he can safely pass his medical with the club."

Whether that 'club' is PSG, West Ham, Sunderland, or indeed Valencia remains to be seen.

Talking about of the wall, speculation reached it's height when it was suggested that United might be interested in a double deal, which brought both David Villa and David Silva to Old Trafford.

It is believed if it happens, United will offer Park Ji Sung, Louis Saha, and £20 million for the duo, an offer which will be hard to refuse for the financially dented club.

However Fergie has said he wants a new striker and who wouldn't David Villa at their club. If true then that would quash any any further talk of Berbatov to Utd unless Spurs are willing to neogatiate.

Just have to wait and see I guess.

Oh and why would Utd need David Silva, is beyond me.

I think Berbatov is more likely, but if Fergus is confident that Ronaldo is staying, and the return of Gary Neville I'd guess the most likely outcome is no one new coming in.

If you had to choose one, who wouldn't you want to see sign for us, Villa or Berbatov?

I don't see Villa or Berbatov improving United dramatically, but it will obviously offer better depth. Really you need someone like Torres.

Why I don't know afterall they have Cafu in their ranks plus the irrestiable Wesley Brown at RB. The only really possible logical reason is maybe is they Fergie sees Richards as Rio's possible replacement. What is Rio? 28 now. Probably just a load of Cr@p.

Absolute nonsense, probably a slow news day they must have taken tips of Marca and write bullshit transfer stories. As for Richards if he was ever to leave Manchester City it won’t be to Manchester United.
