Re: MotD thread
Not sure what the doom was about with Blackburn. They've still got some excellent players for their level (5th - 8th) - Nelson, Samba, Reid, Pederson, Dunn & Santa Cruz. Most of the rest are handy as well.
Ince has landed a plum job really.

Paul Robinson
I wonder if David Dunn will have his moment in the sun this season. Always a talented player but can never seem to stay fit and string together a run of games or any sort of form. If he does this season he could be this year's Aaron Lennon/David Bentley.

Re: MotD thread
I watched polish version of it, so I won't be able to laugh about english announcers qoutes, but I have to admit that Geovanni's goal and Schwarzer save from somebody's header at the beginning of the Hull-Fulham game were plays of the day for me.
Also Dean Ashton deserves praise for scoring 2 goals, and also being very innovative in finding a way to get injured .
PS. Huth's own goal was nice too.

It's because they've hired a lower league manager that is a notorious C0ck. I still think they're going to do poorly this season. Everton just aren't having a good time at the moment.

Terrible defending from Lescott. Why on earth did he stop to put his hand up, Santa Cruz was onside by about a metre.

Re: MotD thread
Still don't fancy Blackburn to do well. First day can be misleading...lose Santa Cruz, and attack-wise they don't look like they'd have a lot. Pederson can go missing. McCarthy didn't score too many last time out, Roberts ain't great. They have bought that Argentinian dude, but I can't say I know much about him.

Re: MotD thread
Everton are basically a better version of Rangers but with a Middlesborough/Arsenal type youth policy. They have no depth or quality but their young replacements may spring a suprise or two. They're heavily reliant on Arteta, Cahill and Yakubu since they have no obvious replacements

Re: MotD thread
Apparently Fergus was at Goodison today and he made a little note in his little notepad when Santa Cruz scored. Could he be an option instead of Berbatov? We know how much United love their wingers to get down the flanks and whip balls in to the danger area.

such a nice goal from Torres, at real speed you don't even see the ball, one second it's at his feet, the next it's in the goal.

Plessis started to offer Hyypia some legs and because Rafa overestimated Sunderland's midfield.

Re: MotD thread
not sure if Capello was impressed by Ashton or disappointed with Kirkland there.
Ashton seems to be made of glass, shame as if he stays fit for a whole season he'd easily be England's #9.

Pretty much, aside from that Derby drew against Portsmouth in the first game of last season and we all know how much of an indicator that proved to be..
