    Newcastle 1 Inter 4

    CL 02/03 - 2nd group stage.

Back when they did have a pretty good side but their defense seemed to let them down.

I yes, I remember that now.

I believe it was the season they lost all opening 3 games of the first group stages, but then won the last 3 and went through.

Got smashed in the second round though, but yes, they were quite decent back then. I remember Dyer playing a blinder against Juve, and apparently Del Piero had urged Lippi to sign him. Shame they didn't- he could have kept Del Piero company on the injury table.

Errr not quite. We beat Leverkusen 3-1 twice and drew with 2-2 with Inter. We did alright. <Ale>

Tell me, how did Spurs do the last time THEY were in the CL? Eh?
Who the f@ck do you think you are 0trick? How can you mock any teams performance in the CL? Cheeky Spud.

Who do I think I am? I'll tell you who I am:

In the absence of Herr Otto, I am the official oracle of all football knowledge on these boards, so bow down at my feet Geordie and beg for repentance before I bitch slap you right in the centre of your face.

As I proved to Roger yesterday: the CL is a poor man's Carling Cup, which in turn is a pale watered down version of the UEFA cup, which we've done well in for the past 3 seasons. Proof - Bayern Munich have won the CL 5 times, but got knocked out of the semis of the UEFA cup last season.

Ferdinand told our club...he wanted the same amount of money as Dean Ashton...or he wouldn't sign lol!.

Thank f@ck it's Sunderland buying him and not Newcastle...or we'd have £2m less.

When Jones is fit, Sunderland have a team that is one of the best in the premiership IMHO.

Which just goes to show how much your opinion should be rated. Unless you think:

"one of the best" = in the top 17

With the money spend at Sunderland, you could make a decent midtable club of it...if they would stop buying all the Brit Cr@p!
