Can't fault the 10 players, sorry the 9 outfield players tonight. They gave everything, and completely dominated Serbia. STILL, the teamplay is clearly down to individuals, and not because of the clown Domenech.

Re: FRANCE - Summer 2012 thread
Well, what a game. For once an entertaining France game.
Lloris - x - Not going to give him a mark, undeservedly sent off I thought. Yellow maybe, but a red is very harsh.
Sagna - 6 - Great defensively, went up often, but did screw up a bit on his final ball.
Gallas- 5 - Generally sound, but cocked up for the penalty incident
Abidal - 4 - Not very convincing. Quite shaky, despite a few good interventions.
Evra - 5 - Krasic ran rings around him in the first half, but he improved in the second. Unlike Sagna, he was excellent going forward.
Diarra - 8 - Immense game. He won everything in the middle, beautiful passing, great skills.
Toulalan - 6 - He gets a 6 for effort, because he did give his all to the cause. But I think it's quite apparent to everyone that Lassana and Toulalan can't play together. And Toulalan has been going backwards for a while now. He often loses the ball, and he can't shoot.
Gourcuff - 6,5 - He was brilliant in the first half, then went under in the second from fatigue.
Henry - 7 - He was dangerous everytime he had the ball. He didn't get it often though, I thought he looked a bit tired. Had Vidic on the run every time. And scored the goal.
Anelka - 7,5 - Set up the goal, and was France's most dangerous man. No one in the Serbian backline managed to handle him. Didn't take his chances though.
Gignac - x - Didn't play enough, but hehad some nice touches.
Subs
Mandanda - 7 - Secure, decent kicking.
Ribery - 5 - Disappointing, did nothing when he came on.
Diarra - x - Didn't have enough time.
The one we all learned from that game, and especially Lazovic, was don't mess with Rosetti.

He doesn't come across as the smartest human being but he's a hell of a player.
He was basically covering both sides of the pitch tonight. And he's exactly the midfielder you'd want on the ball when the opposition is pressing u.
I saw him effortlessly hit a long accurate pass with the laces to Anelka the other day vs Romania - never thought he could do that. Looks like he could do everything when u watch him play.

The disgracefulFrenchman on this board (who joins others in slagging off such a legend) should bury his head in shame after watching that goal.

Rightly so, coz he's simply better than both at the moment.
I watched a rerun of the Bolton vs Chelsea match the other day and wondered why MOTD spent almost the whole show wanking about Drogba, Anelka was comfortably better on the day.
Abidal will most likely come in for Squillaci, and that will be a stupid decision.
I think Govou will start on the right.

I see the football blogs are highlighting the disharmony in the France squad again.
Does anyone think theres a good chance they will qualify and then sack Domenech and install someone else?

Re: FRANCE - Summer 2012 thread
Very interesting article which proves again that Domenech doesn't know what he's doing, especially in defense and for the goalkeepers. If he had given more chances to Frey and Mexes the defence would not be what it is now, which is either pathetic or either alright. A few years ago the defence was the one of the strongest area of hte French team, now you don't even know which area is the best, because the goalkeeper, defense, defensif midfielders, attacking midfielders and forwards can't play together and haven't impressed for a while.

Re: FRANCE - Summer 2012 thread
From an Irish perspective.
Be it you have a clown or not(you quite clearly do) managing France still reckon it will be a close game depending on our tactics especially in the 1st leg.
We really have to win the 1st leg at home, as Italy proved we can be got at on the counter. France's general pace is the 1 thing that concerns me.
I don't have much confidence for the 2nd leg if we need a result. A draw maybe certainly not a win. I'd be pleasantly shocked if we were to win in France.
Does away goals come into these's playoff games btw?
Here's hoping for an entertaining game and an Irish win
