Valero for Malaga would be a good buy, they're missing creativity and passing skills in the middle of the pitch.

More Borja Valero to Malaga rumours. Also being linked with Cristian Tello. But these signings are dependent on Malaga qualifying for the CL.

Just thought I would try and give a review of some of the possible ins and outs for some of the bigger la liga teams. None of this is official before any gets bent out of shape. Just a summary of speculation and rumours.
ATHLETIC BILBAO
Seems like half their team is being linked with moves away from San Mames after their very good European campaign, especially their excellent performances versus Manchester United and Schalke. Fernando Llorente has been linked with a move to the premier league for quite some time. Supposedly Pito Vilanova wants him for the "new" project in Can Barça. It does sound like Llorente does not want to leave Athletic and the club are preparing to sign the big centre forward to a contract 'for life'. Javi Martinez has been linked with just about everyone you can imagine (Real Madrid, Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Barcelona) as have his midfield partners Ander Herrera and Oscar de Marcos. Iker Muniain is being linked with a move to Italy (Juventus) as well.
Gaizka Toquero and Koikili look like they will probably not be in Bielsa's plans for next season. Toquero could be replaced by the return of Aritz Aduriz (Valencia). Of course there are not a vast number of targets since they can only sign Basques (and pretends basques). They have been linked to Lugo winger Ismael Lopez. Athletic are also being linked with a move for Raul Garcia who has been out of favour at Atletico for sometime and returned to Osasuna on loan this past season.
BARCELONA
Poor little cules are losing the mastermind of Pepito Guardiola. Vilanova will be a "continuist" in many senses but there are rumours that he wants to reinstitute a proper centre forward and revamp the backline. Dani Alves is the biggest name that could leave. Been linked with a move to PSG (who hasn't?), Milan, and Juventus. Especially after the stupid dance in Vallecas his fate could be sealed! Pique has been out of favour at times with Pep and it's rumoured Man Utd want him back. I doubt he would leave to be honest. Pedro, Tello, and Cuenca have all been linked with moves away. Keita could be leaving. I suppose the only two that are guaranteed to be back are Messi and Pinto.
Obviously they need to replace Abidal. Jordi Alba seems to be the consensus favourite for left back. Pique has been erratic and Puyol isn't getting any younger and let's be honest Mascherano is not a centre back. They've been linked with Thiago Silva for ages. More recently David Luiz's name has been mentioned. Just today SPORT or MD (can't remember which) was saying that Vilanova really wants to bring back Botia. Thiago Alcantara is also being rumoured to be on the way out in the last couple of days although maybe that is just because of more stupid dancing. Malaga are supposedly planning an 'oferta de locura' for the Braz-ital-iard. Meanwhile the shadow of Neymar looms...
MALAGA
Don't pretend like they are not going to qualify for the Champions League! Quite a lot of PROGRESS in the first 2 seasons of the sheikhs. Gone from finishing 17th in 2009-10 to 4th in 2011-12. They have spent big, bringing in a mix of young talents (Camacho, Isco, Cazorla) and experienced players (RVN, Julio Baptista Toulalan, Demichelis). The centre of defence still seems to be an area to improve and even though they signed Kameni in January I think they have still lack a top top quality goalkeeper.
Seems like the last couple of players left from the Jesualdo Ferreira regime will be on the way out (Weligton, Malagueño, and Sebas Fernández). RVN has not really done the business and could be on the way to Qatar. Buonanotte will also leave this summer. Been linked with a bunch of players most notably Borja Valero. Malaga are also interested in several of Barcelona's canteranos including Tello and Thiago. As for the backline, they've been linked with Raul Albiol and also more recently Bruno Alves who wants to be rescued from Russia.
VALENCIA
Biggest question is who will be on the bench next season because it certainly will not be Unai Emery. Joaquin Caparros seems to be the favourite at the moment to take the reigns although ex player Miroslav Djukic (Valladolid) and Jose Ramon Sandoval (Rayo) are also being linked with the job at the Mestalla. So many rumours it will be almost impossible to do it succinctly. First the outs. It seems like yet again Valencia will be listening to offers for their best players which at this stage is really only Roberto Soldado. He's been linked with a move to England and now supposedly Juventus are in the running. Jordi Alba of course is being linked heavily with Barcelona. Milan are interested in Diego Alves (no idea where that has come from to be honest). Marseille want Feghouli. Fenerbahce want Mehmet Topal and on and on it goes. And then there is a lot of dead wood they should get rid of (i.e. Ricardo Costa, Dealbert, Miguel, Barragan, Maduro, etc.) PSG want Rami who has been good but if he goes would leave them with only one quality centre back in Victor Ruiz.
There will probably not be a lot of resources for new signings. Albiol is being linked with a move back to Mestalla. Young Las Palmas striker Jonathan Viera is being touted with a move to Valencia as well. Van der Wiel seemed like almost a sure thing for right back but now he's come out to say that his signing for Valencia is practically "lost". So who knows. They have some nice players but not enough quality to do more than push for 3rd. I think they are hoping to stay good enough for CL qualification until the new stadium is finished and then try to start a new chapter.
ATLETICO
Europa League finalists and 6th in the table but still there is the usual sensation they are going nowhere. They have some nice players, a pretty good XI but not a good squad and really need a proper right back.
Perea is finally leaving (thank god for the indios). Antonio Lopez could finally leave as well which in spite of him being a loyal servant would be a good thing. Sounds like Salvio will head back to Benfica. They will do well to keep Thibault Courtois on loan for another season if they can. The future of Diego (also on loan) is still up in the air. Apparently they are wanting to bring back Jurado which would be crazy because I think he is on pretty big wages at Schalke. Probably need another striker to complement Falcao and Adrian Lopez.
Been linked with a move for out of favour Espanyol midfielder Javi Marquez which could really strengthen their midfield in my opinion. I think Pulido could return and stay with the first team next year, he's been really good on loan with Rayo. But I suppose at the end of the day, no matter who they do or don't sign they will always be Atletico and will find new and innovative ways to f*ck up their season no matter how promising things look.
SEVILLA
Don't even know what to say about them, the club has really lost its way. They have some decent players (Negredo, Reyes, Navas, Perotti, Navarro, Fazio) but none of them have been good this season. Kanoute is about 100 years old. And they are extremely poor in the centre of midfield. Their best foward has been Aruna f*cking Kone on loan at Levante ffs. They aren't even being linked with anyone interesting. Lionel Carole (who?)....Daniel Carrico (errrm)....
VILLARREAL
Basically they will stay up (only just) and then sell the rest of their best players this summer except Giuseppe Rossi who is, again, broken. Borja Valero has plenty of "girlfriends" as they say. Musacchio is being linked with Roma and Juventus. Bruno's name has been linked with a move to AC Milan. Zapata could be headed back to Italy with Napoli and Lazio rumoured to have interest. Nilmar is being pursued by Napoli and Galatasaray. Twente wants Jonathan De Guzman.
But on the plus side, they are supposedly among the favourites to sign David Hoilett.
REAL MADRID
Champions so suck it menos que un club!
In spite of that it seems like there could be plenty of changes, as many as 6 or 7 if you believe the rumours. Drenthe and Gago currently on loan will leave the club permanently in the summer. Pedro Leon won't play for Madrid but I doubt anyone will buy him after a less than impressive season with Getafe. Probably back to the Coliseo for another loan spell. Carvalho, Lassana Diarra, Altintop, and Albiol are 99% sure to leave. Sahin will probably go on loan back to Germany somewhere. Kaka and Higuain are both supposedly for sale (they want 70m euro from PSG for the pair of them). Hard to say. I don't think Jose wants Kaka but there are not that many people interested in taking on his wages. Higuain may want out. He's been frustrated this season behind Benzema there is no doubt. But he has been linked with a move away almost since the first day he arrived and he always stay to fight and usually plays an important role.
Jose will definitely want another right back this summer with Sergio Ramos moving full time to centre back. The rumour today is that there is an agreement with Benfica for Axel Witsel (with Jese Rodriguez going the other way as part of the deal). I hope to god its not true I am sick of Benfica always bending us over and making us pay double or triple what a player is worth (e.g. Di Maria and Coentrao). Couple of midfielders hopefully will come in. Javi Martinez and then a replacement for Kaka would be great. Jose also wants a new goalkeeper. Of course the tension between him and Iker is no secret. Even with all of his power he cannot get away with selling Casillas. But I think he wants a substitute who can really push Casillas. Or at least one that he can threaten Casillas with dropping to the bench. In addition Adan wants to go somewhere to get minutes so it's almost certain we will sign someone. Early in the week we were linked with Wiese but I guess he signed with Hoffenheim. Jose is supposed to like Courtois but I don't know why Chelsea would sell him, least of all to us.
Don't see why Bilbao will sell any of their best players, its not like they can replace them with players of similar quality and if memory serves me right, they don't often sell their best players when in their prime.
They really have a chance of pushing on next season, so I hope they can keep the squad together, one things for sure, javi ain't going to madrid.
For Barca, the more I listen to zubi the less I think their will be any major additions, not even in defence which has looked a lot worst than it actually is this season, due to pep playing three at the back, Masch in a back four as looked as good as any defender in Europe when played in the securing of a back four, struggles as fuck in the back three though and i don't see tito playing it much next season, so Bartra to be promoted and fontas to stay
Masch,Pique,Puyol,Barta,Fontas for the CB
Montoya and Alves at RB
We will sign a LB but that's it
In midfield and going forward we are ok, if keita goes one will come in, but thats it.
People keep talking about a plan B, but we haven't struggled to create chances against defensive teams this season, we have just failed to take the chances, which is down to luck, Don't see a need for a Llorente type next season
all of that being said, rosell may one to sign at least one Brazilian.

I would still like a CB as well as a LB,a real top class one.Mascherano is normally brilliant but his positioning can get punished against the best teams.Puyols getting on a bit now,I think it's time to look for his long term replacement.I haven't seen Barta or Fontas play much so I don't know whether they have the potential.

Pellegrino to replace emery?
I Think Valencia should sell Rami and keep Soldado, its much easier to find a decent replacement at CB on a budget than a 20 goal per season striker.
should be able to get 20-25m for rami

RUMOURS!!!!!
*Apparently PSG want Soldado. I would imagine PSG will pay over the odds for Soldado and Soldado appears interested in the move (read: interested in the paycheck). Maybe one more summer of selling their best players and Valencia will not have to be so much of a selling club.
*Luis Perea is officially leaving Atletico (at long last). No idea how this joker lasted so long but he will not extend his contract.
*Mallorca who are really close to being in Europe next season are interested in signing Carlos Cuellar of Aston Villa.
*Valencia are apparently trying to sign Branimir Hrgota (never heard of him) an 18 year old Swede from Jönköping Södra (never heard of them). Guess he is a forward player. Three goals in eight matches with the Sweden U19s.
*Trabzonspor and Fenerbahce both want Hamit Altintop!
*Dealbert looks to be moving to Deportivo. He is out of contract this summer and Deportivo are looking for low-cost/free signings for their return to la liga.

Why should one sale of Soldado solve their economic problems?Jaime wrote:RUMOURS!!!!!

I don't think it solves their problems but if they can get another big fee (25-30m) that would, I think, help them to bridge the gap in the financial resources for another season. When is Nou Mestalla supposed to be ready? The season after I thought...it's all about getting to the new stadium and then being able to sell the old ground.

Ultimately if the bank puts pressure they should sell but they should also see that Valencia needs to stay in Cl and with a big spending Malaga that is rapidly improving plus a fresh looking Atletico Madrid then I can see them losing that cl place. Both those two sides will spend and I have high hopes for Simeone when he has a summer to really drill the players. So Valencia can't afford to rely on the complacency of the rest anymore.

Agree. Complacency has basically been the biggest enemy during the Unai Emery era. They've been good enough to stay 3rd comfortably but I don't think that is going to be the case for much longer.

Atleti for me actually have the third best team now in La Liga (I've thought that for a while). They are very solid throughout. They lack perhaps a top class central midfielder, (I hope Simeone plays Koke there next season), and they lack a bit of depth up front.
They don't even have a huge need to bring anyone in during the summer, which hasn't been the case for years. I imagine they will outright purchase Diego, and they may look for a CM and backup for Falcao/Adrian. I hope they keep Salvio.
Perea, Ascuncao will almost certainly leave. Lopez might. Can't say I'm a huge fan of Tiago either.
I wonder if Malaga will spend big. I'm not sure they will. But they have a few notable holes in their squad.
Valencia..I'm really not to sure about them at the moment.

I think a lot will depend on whether Atletico can snatch the last CL spot at the weekend. If they can finish 4th then I think they will have resources to continue on. If they don't, from what I've read, they will most likely have to sell players, maybe even Falcao.

RUMOURS:
*Apparently Bayern have offered 10m euro for Nuri Sahin. That is exactly what we paid for him last summer. Jose has said Sahin is staying so I am guessing this is bullsh!t but you never know. Inter, Galatasaray, and Borussia Dortmund all reportedly interested.
*Marca's top RM story today is that the new target for right back is Van der Wiel. He was being linked with Valencia for the longest time but just the other day Super Deporte claimed that he was impossible now because of the cost. Ajax supposedly want 8m euro.
*Now Valencia's two main targets to replace Miguel and Barragan at right back are Debouchy (Lille) and Joao Pereira (Sporting). Can't remember which thread it was but someone was saying that Debouchy is quite good.
*Apparently Jose is insisting that we need a "proper" backup goalkeeper. The options? No less than 13 names according to the rumour, including Manuel Almunia , Flavio Roma, Carlo Cudicini, Chris Kirkland, Heurelho Gomes , Alex Manninger, Julio Sergio (who?), Andre Lenz (wtf), Andreas Isaksson, Hans Jorg Butt (he still plays???), the esteemed Lukasz Fabianski, Craig Gordon, and Roberto (the one from Zaragoza...who is one of Jorge Mendes' players...who will undoubtedly cost 30m euro).
*Barcelona's search for a left back could be focusing on London. Apparently Zubi is not willing to pay the 12m euro that Valencia are demanding for Jordi Alba and will instead try to sign Tottehnam left back Benoit Assou-Ekotto. There is no report on how this will affect Bernd's username and avatar. Stay tuned for more...
*Malaga interested in Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo. Negredo did not have a good season. But Malaga want to replace the outgoing Ruud van Nistelrooy. Sevilla are asking for 14m euro for the ex-Real Madrid and Almeria striker.
*If Villarreal are relegated Valencia are going to make a huge push to sign defensive midfielder Bruno. They could also move for Granada's Guilherme Siqueira if Jordi Alba is sold in the end.

This isn't a rumour but how much good would Nesta do for Malaga? He would be the perfect short term fix for them in that position. Come to think of it, I'd love to sign Nesta short term also; his educational value alone would be worth it and he's still the classiest defender around.

Not sure how much educational value a Serie A defender will be able to provide in La Liga, even one with the quality and track record of Nesta. I don't know why, but Serie A players almost never do well in Spain.

Particularly Serie A defenders. The only two that I can think of that did well were Panucci and Carboni.

I thought Cannavaro stabilized our defence pretty nicely in his first two years here. Both he and Heinze were similar for me; good at first but past it by the end.

it's never going to happen,he's nowhere near good enough to play for us.I don't even think he's good enough to play for Spurs,he's one of their weak links imo.
Thankfully we will sign Jordi Albi.

Starting line up is looking very good but as has been the case ever since they moved up(almost 10 years!) they are weak in central midfield. They need back ups all over but they could possibly take over from Valencia next season.Calidad wrote:Atleti for me actually have the third best team now in La Liga (I've thought that for a while).
I'm divided on who should get the fourth Cl place because Malaga would be able to attract better players and really start aiming for the top 2 City style. However I like Simeone and his style much more than Pellegrini's.
If I were running Atletico I would really go after Villarreal players. Diego Lopez,Bruno,Borja,Cani and Nilmar should all be in their price range.

I thought his first year he was ok, bit of a WC hangover in the first couple of months but then got better. Still exposed quite a lot although at the time he was playing with Helguera so....second season was again, for me ok, he was brutalised in CL though. I remember Lyon raping him in the ass on numerous occasions.

I knew they would do some kind of swap deal like that,Torres isn't worth anywhere near £30 million Euros now anyway.

RUMOURS!!!!!!!!!
*Apparently Barcelona are out of the running for Jordi Alba and will not go for...wait for it...wait for it......JOAN ORIOL!!!!!!!!!!!!
*Pito Vilanova also wants to sign a CB because he doesn't like Mascherano as a defender. Thiago Silva has said he isn't leaving Milan so the latest player being linked with those catalan silly pricks is Real Sociedad centre back Iñigo Martínez. He has had a really good season and is miles better than Bartra or Fontas or Muniesa.
*Malaga have renewed brasilian centre back Weligton. Meanwhile the sheikh is going to splash for 6 signings for their Champions League debut, according to AS: goalkeeper, centre back, centre midfielder, winger, and two strikers! Should be an interesting summer....
*Atletico are planning to swoop for Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud in the case that they cannot retain Falcao.
*Sevilla will have to sell players in order to finance any new signings. Among those that Sevilla are hoping to sell: Rakitic, Perotti, Trochowski, Medel, and Negredo.
*Getafe have about 100 players on loan this past season. Apparently the are trying to negotiate permanent deals for Miguel Angel Moya (Valencia) and Pedro Leon (Real Madrid). Moya has a 2,5m option to buy on his loan but the problem for Getafe are his wages. Alexis (Sevilla), Masilela (Maccabi Haifa), and Ruben Perez (Atletico) will return to their respective clubs.
*Real Betis want David Barral from relegated Sporting to partner Ruben Castro in attack next season.
*Villarreal really are a shambles at the moment: one report is saying they have to make up 45m euros in their budget through players sales and reduced wages. It sounds like everyone apart from Bruno and Marcos Senna is up for sale. Although if a big enough offer comes for Bruno they would probably sell.
