I think its BS to a certain degree by the sun.
Was there an altercation? Why not.
Could Wayne have punched him sitting down? Sure, why not.
The part were Gray was floored with one punch (from a guy sitting down) is the hardest to believe. First, Gray is an atlethic man, second, if sitting down Wayne could have only punched him in the gut, or give him a hook. If your sitting you can never get the torque to power a punch to floor somebody - not unless you're a haymaker type of boxer with at least 150 kg of force in your arms alone witout using your hips. Which Wazza certainly isn't.
Looks more like Gray was shoved/punched once and lost his balance and/or tripped over someone else; that is if he even got floored for starters.
I wouldn't read to much in it. BUT if there was physical contact and intent to hurt, then Wayne might be in some legal trouble.

It ain't how hard you hit - it's where you hit'em. It doesn't take much if you catch someone on the chin correctly.
Also, taking a punch when you're ready for it is different than when it catches you unawares - most people will fall/ stumble from a fairly innocuous blow if they're not expecting it.

If he wasn't any good at football he would be joyriding and freebasing crack on some scummy estate in liverpool till he went to jail for either a) beating someone half to death, b) stealing far too much stuff or c) being real stupid (i think its a crime). His bird is a booter too, if i was a prem footballer id have a much fitter bird than that and if i was unlucky enough to have such a munter as my bird i wouldnt think twice about 'sharing the wealth' with my buddies! You're not going to KO a person sitting down. If you hit them on the point of the chin sitting down, its a straight punch - which is useless if you don't use your hips.
With a hook can KO people by using less of your hips (thus sitting down too) by hitting them on the chin/temple, but Gray isn't a wimp. As an athlete he has enough neck muscle to taking any punch from a man sitting down without being KO'd. Sitting down you canonot control the distance. I dont think it happened either as its the Sun, but I also wouldnt put it past Rooney to have tanked him one.
He's pretty simple, so I doubt he's into resolving disputes through sensible debate. Factor in that he's only just out of his teens, has a temper worse than a Pre-menstrual Gorilla, and the physique of an ox, and its not hard to imagine him leaning across a table and laying one on Gray.

If u listen to and watch mr rooney speak for more than three seconds then its painfully obvious that he is as stupid as they come.
