Post by Parks lives Sat Nov 11, 2006 9:38 pm

Lot of abuse going his way, early season from the 'I won't give a player at least 10 games to settle in' crowd.

Been absolutely superb the last 3 - 4 games and a huge reason why we have made a massive improvement this season. His partnership with Scholes is first rate and some of his passing has been excellent.

So in theory, up yours. <Ale>

He's too foreign for my liking. You should have gone for a proper blood and thunder, gritty, 'ard as nails midfielder like Scott Parker.

I think the critisim of him has been unfair, having said that he is not, and will never be, worth the money United paid for him.

    Not his fault though.

Carrick needed time to settle, he will still be dogged by his price tag no matter what -- high expectations.

and do people still think he is Roy Keane's 'successor' Question Shocked

I've been impressed with him in his last 4 games ... the big test will be on the 26th November ..

By far the Bolton game is his best.

    Well worth £14 million, thanks.

We'll only play £18.6 million if we win the Champions league and the premier league, which will be well worth the extra money as well.

His worth depends on how long he stays at United. If United win league and European titles and he stays for the rest of his career, its hard to see how he's not going to be near on worth the money Fergie paid for him.

He's hardly ever injured. He's English. He's perfect for United's passing game.

Doesnt score enough is his biggest weakness.

he was well worth the £2m Spurs paid for him.

I'm not sure you're statement is correct, my understanding is that the remaining £4.6m is based on appearances as well as success.

True. The point being though the reason people dont think he's worth the money is because goals = glamour, and without them its hard for people to justify him being worth that amount.

You know what I think about him. He makes it all look very simple. seems to never be in a rush. He's a joy to watch

He has been ONE of many reasons of your good form.

    *Scholes is back

*A settled back four minus Silvestre

    *Cristiano Ronaldo has improved again

*Saha has been more prolific than before like Ruud back in the day

    *More depth from the bench

Parker and Emre = Newcastles best players by some distance this season. I think he's a top player; changed my opinion over the last year. Actually thought he was overrated at Charlton, but his passing has improved enormously.

No coincidence his name has been linked with Alex Fergusons search for a midfielder with "bite" in january

The goals will always be leveled at him (even though no one complains with Makelele) and he should score more with his technique but then most people haven't got a clue about what he does bring and like an easy target.

Watch Scholes and Carrick when we haven't got the ball, there like Synchronized swimmers, its fucking CLASS. Very Happy

    @Parky,

its really no suprise United are so good to watch with two of the best passers of the ball from these shores playing together. The more they get used to each other, the better they will get aswell.

My support of Carrick is being well rivalled by Obispo and Daniel Agger now though. I might have to step up a gear.
