    ok

The ref had a shocker tonight too, giving free kicks for all sorts of nonsense. How was the ref in your game?

    <Ale>

he should've sent deco off earlier too

oh and terry's goal should've been ruled out for handball.

Yes, but he should have been, but he wasn't. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Have only seen the Terry goal once, but looks like it comes off his chest.

I loved Totti's roll in the tackle for the FK that lead to the goal. With a roll like that he should try tumbling for the Italian Gymnastics team.

I agree, it gave Chelsea an unfair advantange as Deco was playing for longer than he should've been.

Terry was offside aswell, plus handball.

Agree on Totti's roll, but it made no difference.

Silly thing is we managed to regroup a little once Deco was sent off. If only he'd gone sooner eh?

If it was offside then it was by centimetres. Very difficult for the linesman to tell and as you said regarding Totti, it made no difference.

Had Rio been marshalling the Chelsea's defence instead of English shithouses, Roma wouldn't have scored one, let alone three, especially after having had Roma's attack in his pocket over the last 2 seasons Razz

I don't watch CL group phases but I see from Kimbo's comments that Tyldesley was in fine form Rolling Eyes

Hasn't stopped a certain French and Arsenal Legend from doing it at the very top.

I'm surprised u say he isn't quick enough, I have always seem him as a pacey player, maybe it's coz of the way he goes past players with ease.

well deco provided the cross for ur first goal so you can chalk that off, even though it was offside and handball anyway.

Honestly you looked in control at the beginning without really creating any clear cut chances. Roma grew in confidence after the first goal and took their chances well. Cheslea didn't create anything clear cut but had plenty of possesion.

Why do you even bother puro

Dude you know I like the Reds, but let's not be stupid. Atlético should have 2 wins from those two encounters. That's why they're knows as PATETICOS in Spain. They almost always squander "sure" wins.

Atlético de Madrid FFS! Biggrin How do they ALWAYS manage to f@ck up! Admittedly it took a Gerrard's DIVE at the death but still. Biggrin <Ale>

Puro I hate to correct you but before rafa rested gerrard and alonso we were totally dominating atletico and bar a shocking ref decision would have been two - nil up and on our way to winning comfortably

Today we missed at least 6 simple chances. Not just good chances, but near certain goal chances.

Now if this is your version of atletico playing us off the park with about 2% possession in the second half then you should give up watching football

    <Ale> Biggrin

There was not much a keeper can do about that Pierre. What makes u think he can't do that against Reina for example? I have even seen him hit volleys with his right - his weaker foot!

borocooper wrote:Well...Inter are fucking useless. How they can be considered one of the best teams in Europe is beyond me. They're clueless.
    Don't even get me started.

They are just a heap of $h!t. Their players lack the stomach for European glory, and tactically they don't have a clue at the continental level. Add to that fact that their owner is a complete moron who cannot keep his mouth shut, and quickly you understand why they are becoming the most hated team in Italy.

They used to be the laughingstock of Italy but now they are just despised--maybe that's a step up depending on your perspective. It is testament to their odiousness that even after Calciopoli it is they not Juve who are hated the most. This is partly due to the fact that they are the worst winners ever. All their sanctimony about being the cleanest team in Italy really irked everyone.

This past week they have taken shots at Milan. Galliani ignored them, but finally gave in. I mean it was too easy. All Milan have to do is point to our trophy cabinet.

You should see how they play under Mourinho as well. Without a clue. Honestly, Mourinho's midfield looks utterly pedestrian. Quaresma is perhaps the most overrated player I've seen recently, and Adriano cannot get his $h!t together. Ibrahimovic blows hot and cold, and let's face it, he is still below the calibre of Kaka', C. Ronaldo and Messi.

With all that said, they have the talent, but in Europe they are an absolute shambles. Until they win the CL, no one will take them seriously. They can harp on and on about their "Scudetti", but only last year's was entirely legitimate--and Roma almost pipped them to the prize then too. lol!

But their owner just doesn't get it. He made fun of us for buying Ronaldinho, saying that we buy aging players. He conveniently forgot that he was also involved in the negotiations for Ronaldinho. Then, rather than give us credit (btw Galliani was very magnanimous last year when Inter won) for being top, he takes a potshot saying how long it has been. Internazionale, a team that we have eclipsed for decades, suddenly wants to forget history because they think they can rewrite it after Calciopoli. After all, they did 'win' that Scudetto in 2006.

It is every decent person's moral duty to loathe this team to its core.

    End of rant.

How does Roma's win affect Tweedle's 'agenda'?

Have to say, fair play to Atleti. I didn't see the first half, but I thought they looked relatively solid in the 2nd. Liverpool didn't really create much except from setpieces.

Considering the amount of times Atleti usually roll over and concede 2, 3, even 4 goals (or 6 in Barca games), I thought they gave a reasonable account of themselves, even without Ujfalusi.

Handball aside, Perea had a very good game, as did Lopez. He's really starting to look a useful FB, playing on the right has done him wonder, as he's not starting to be a bit useful with his weaker foot as well now. Pernia who I think is $h!t, even had quite a decent game today as well.

would have liked to see this kid come on though, would have been able to retain possession better than Asscunsao.

will be interesting to see what happens with him at the end of season - where will he end up?

They just seemed totally inept all over the pitch.

The back 4 lacked any sort of communcation..or toughness, Burdisso outmuscled easily by their forward.

Midfield was lost..Quaresma was shocking, I dont know how overrated he is as I hardly ever see him but if thats what he's usually like then he must be very overrated..never seen a player run directly into trouble so often, without a trick to get him out of it or the strength to hold onto the ball. Same as Mancini tonight actually, so predictable..it was like watching Babel without the hipshot.

Ibra continues to disappoint me whenever I see him..I honestly dont think ive ever seen him have a good game..again, not that ive watched them all that much but I must've seen him about 10 times, and never a good game that says to me "this is one of the best in the world".

Ibra has good games every now and then, but in the big games it's as if he perfectly embodies Scandinavian football propriety--be polite and trudge off without a fuss. Chiellini owned him last year. I mean is not a great player one who can change the complexion of the majority of the big games? What use is nutmegging 4 defenders if what you bring home from European nights is Anthorsis 3-3 Inter Laughing?
