The Ukrainian marksman moved back to San Siro after two troubled seasons at Stamford Bridge.
After a prolific seven-year spell with the Rossoneri, Sheva opted to join the Premier League giants, reportedly for family reasons, as he felt that his son Jordan needed to improve his grasp of the English language.
However, the little Sheva must have also grown to love Carlo Collodi’s novel Pinocchio while in England, and so did his dad.
The 32-year-old caused controversy when he kissed the Blues’ jersey upon scoring the first goal for his new club in the Charity Shield match with Liverpool, and the Diavoli fans consequently labelled him as a ‘traitor’ and a small group even protested heavily against his return this summer.
Now Sheva seems to be in denial about this episode. “I am not a traitor and I never kissed Chelsea’s shirt,” he told newspaper Metro.
The Ukraine international has failed to hold down a regular starting shirt at San Siro in the early stages of the campaign, but he feels things are bound to get better.
“I just need to keep working hard and improve my physical condition,” admitted the striker, “I have not played regularly for such a long time and it’s not easy to get back on track.
“But I scored a goal in the UEFA Cup, and the important thing is to always be ready when the coach calls upon me.”

Did he really say this? That would be incredibly stupid since there's obviously footage of him kissing the shirt somewhere. Even I remember him going it. I think it was in the charity shield or something like that.
