Bayern vs Hoffenheim = game of the 21st Century

Real vs Barca is bigger, sure, but Bayern vs Hoffenheim is like the Romans vs the German Babarian at the Varus Battle, it's like David vs Goliath or the Romans against Asterix and Obelix

Hoffenheim are currently leading the Bundesliga, Bayern are second

this is the battle for Bundesliga supremacy

but far more importantly, it's the battle between the richest club in Germany, the all-time Bundesliga champs against a village near Heidelberg

with a population of 3.000

two years ago Hoffenheim were in the 3rd league

1 year ago they were in the 2nd leage

this year they are in the 1st Bundesliga

and NOW

they are LEADING it

whilst playing the most attractive football in the league

with players like Ibisevic, who is about to break Gerd Müller's all-time Bundesliga goal record

the sharp shooter cost 1 million Euro only

this is how scouting works

they also took young German players like Compper, Weis, Beck, Jaissle... who were considered to be "not good enough" by the likes of Stuttgart, Gladbach... and turned them into internationals

Hoffenheim's main training ground is being overlooked by residential balconies

their main club shop is located in a petrol station where the players buy their Mars bars and soft porn magazines

ie

it does not get any more romantic than this

the club's sponsor is a chap called Hopp, the co-founder of SAP

but really, this is not about money

this is about good professional work at Hoffenheim against piss-poor, shambolic amateur stuff by Bayern/Klinsi

the Bayern idiots (Hoeness, DUmmenigge and Co) have now started a war of words with Hoffenheim, leading the village manager to say

If we lose/draw Otto is going to gloat.

If we win it's because Klinsmann unashamedly used Hitzfeld's tactics.

It's also a sign of the decline of the bundesliga, if a newly promoted team can lead the league so easily..then there is something wrong. But being nr 1 in the Bundesliga is meaningless now!

It is highly entertaining, ill give you that. We have it here with AZ. Lets hope for a Moffenheim win then though I wont be suprised if they get dicked and the fairytale comes to an end.

The Bundesliga is looking pretty good in the 5-year-ranking. How about the Eredivise?

I'm looking forward to this game, but I doubt it can beat our 5-4 win against Hoffenheim, at least in terms of entertainment.

Anyway, I hope for a draw or a high win for Bayern.

I like leagues like that I can remember when Nottingham Forest came up and were challenging for the EPL in 94. What I would give for the EPL to be competitive like this

If it's true, than Bundesliga has a serious problem, because it happens every 10 years (?). Didn't Kaiserstrauten (sorry for spelling) once win a title straight after coming back from 2nd League? With Otto Renhagel as a manager?

Well its entertaining when a league is competative, look at the Dutch league...everyone can win it this year. More entertaining then ever, but when you look at the football quality..its awful last years.
