    How good are they?

I heard they have sold some of their key players from last season.

    Rosicky supports them. Smile

Gamba Osaka made the semi finals so that'll be good for the competition, although the United game was bound to attract attention presumably now most of the crowd will be cheering for the Japanese side.

I doubt it. I think those jap c**ts will cheer for united, cause their clubs have no tradition.

in the world club cup here, in 2000, Vasco and Corinthains games were all sold out, but Man U and Real Madrid games were almost empty. no one gave a damn about them here.

Adelaide Utd leading Al-Ahly 1-0, through a cracking wonderstrike the Egyptians generally dominating though from what I can see.

    oh dear

so perhaps African football is shit afterall and in this instance our prejudices are proved founded

I reckon we could pick 11 random posters from the board, put them in shorts, and they would give Adelaide Utd a run for their money over 90 minutes.

How much is this financially worth , it must be good for PR and reputation of the clubs, opening markets for the clubs, but how much tv money etc is involved.

6th place $1,000,000 I think the commentator said
    5th place $1,500,000

    I assumed he meant dollars

    FT 1-0

    edit, according to wikipedia

The winners will take away $5 million, second-placed team receives $4 million, the third-placed team $2.5 million, the fourth-placed team $2 million, the fifth-placed team $1.5 million, the sixth-placed team $1 million and the seventh-placed team will receive $500,000

that's no small change for most of these teams I'd expect.

Yeah for teams outside Europe that is decent money , enough to take it seriously for they can improve their clubs with it for European clubs I think its okayish but the advertising and the marketing factor would cover up most things.

1047: Missed opportunity for United as Tevez, eight yards out, fails to square for Giggs or Nani - both unmarked - in front of goal and Osaka clear.

Always be Tevez's problem and the reason why he's behind Rooney and Berbatov.

Really good open game so far... United look like they could open Gamba up at any moment, however Gamba have countered really well.

I didn't like Five's coverage, 'you can watch United in the final on Sunday bla bla' like they are guaranteed the victory, very disrespectful however likely the result might be.
