this isn't the Premier League, Fergle has no jurisdiction here. Vidic elbowed someone in the World Club Cup Final. There's every chance he'll pick up a longer ban, particularly since FIFA are trying to raise the profile of the competition.

no. they lost their best players after Libertadores, and they were the dark horse, like Porto and Once Caldas.

as far as I know, it's 3-2 to south america.

and this reminded me of Romário and Edmundo walking on the park against Man U in Rio. That Man U defence was a joke, and Edmundo's third goal was a work of art. http://br.youtube.com/watch?v=adc7trqYxS4

Vasco and Corinthians had quality to win the CL that year.

That Liga team has lost a lot of talent recently. They've lost their two central defenders in Giovanni Espinoza and Paraguayan rock Carlos Espínola. The Argentinian who some people think looks like a girl is Norberto Araujo and he is a defensive midfielder not a central defender. At least that was his position when he play for Sporting Cristal, there the center backs were Miguel Villalta and Patrón Rodríguez (Braga), Araujo was DM.

Continuing with Liga de Quito, more importantly they also lost Guerrón and Vera, arguably their two best players.

To the insulars here, that's like the Mancs playing without Cristiano, Vidic, Rio, and Anderson. LDU were so diminished yet still managed to belong on the pitch. Not bad for the "new" team on the block. Manso made both Cristiano and Rooney look distinctly average. True story mes amis! Biggrin <Ale>

You can't compare it like that. like Vickery said by the time the Libertadores champion reaches january they have lost good players quite quickly. also you have to remember that Quito were a real underdog team. i might be confusing them with that colombian team but they were like Liverpool(2005) relien on defence and how the other team plays.
even when they were behind they still played quite defensive. they had quite a good playmaker.

Did you see Rooney finish Puro , add that to the never to be seen by you collection.

It doesnt matter if they lost their best players , every other SA team will lose its best players and this till wont be a contest.

One of the very few competitions that is more difficult to qualify for rather then the tournament itself , its a non contest even if the SA posters doesnt see it that way and will remain the same if it continue to take place the same way.

moreover, LDU play in the altitude, without which they wouldn't have won the Libertadores cup. I'd love to see Man U playing in the altitude in South America.

A non contest how can you say that? Both liverpool and Barca were beaten by the south american champion. and like i said it's quite hard when every time they meet the south american champion has lost its best stars in short time and has to make up for it with no money at all. and despite this i have yet to see a european team play great against the south american opposition.
