They've always been good for a laugh. I can just see the world's top players queueing up to join them next month. They better make sure there is an escape clause in their contract when they get relegated.

I know I have said this before, but no one thought it was a real possibility. City may actually be relegated this season. If they get new players in January, they may also take a while to settle. At any rate, I cannot see many players interested in a relegation scrap.

    From the BBC

    1529: GOAL Newcastle 1-1 Tottenham
Michael Dawson dispossesses Shola Ameobi in the centre circle and prods the ball through for Luca Modric who stays onside before slotting past Heurelho Gomes. Roman Pavlyuchenko was offside as the ball came through, but not Modri

He's so shit he goes in goal for the opposition now?

Lucas will just do Mascha's job only he will kick people instead of getting the ball like mascha does. Expect to see a lot of free kicks for arsenal from 30 yards out today

You never know, robbie keane may even do something today however unlikely it is

Bad News : Rafa is in contact with Sammy Lee so expect to see Ngog and El Zhar at some stage

It's still way too early (and close) to seriously think City will go down, but they do need to turn it round quickly. This was a massive confidence blow at the start of a heavy load of fixtures.

Hull at home next is a tough fixture, Hull with little pressure at the minute and a good away record, while Man City will be desperate for points. Then they go to Blackburn, who've got a new manager and maybe renewed confidence.

With attracting players, it's hard to know. You can't see a big star risking moving there while they're in a precarious position, so they might be best to go for players on the Santa Cruz/Bellamy level - proven premiership players, who can keep them up.

They're linked with World class players, which are never going to sign for City. Only reason why Robinho ended up going there was because it was an hour before the transfer deadline, and he had already held a press conference saying he was leaving Real.

If Hughes has all this money to spend why wouldn't he buy some defenders. Let the arabs buy some big name striker to satisfy there whims but buy some strong defenders and midfielders to shore up the team.

Depends what you define as anchor men. Man U always have their two cms play deeper than the wide players, are they anchormen?

No he has played 4-4-2 mostly this season but that hasn't worked either because it puts our only player capable of doing something (gerrard) too deep (when torres is out)

Kuyt and keane are the problem (and it's rafa's fault for buying them). They just are not suited to the roles they have to play when torres is out. They can look good when gerrard and torres are lifting the level of the team but without them our attack just looks ordinary.

Alonso isnt really defensive minded, we could find plenty of players better suited to breaking up play and covering ground in the midfield. Alonso dictates the tempo, runs the game, keeps possession.

tbh, if you played 4-5-1 which is Pool's best option, with Torres as lone striker. Your midfield would dominate our CL tie. Monster Mash and Alonso vs Gago and Guti Laughing
