Post by bluenine Sun Jan 11, 2009 6:21 pm

Lets do a goal.com style poll to come up with the top 10 striker/forwards fin the world. Not just performance in 2008, but who do you think are the best 10 in the world at end of 2008 (like, right now).

Methodology: Its very simple. All of you get to nominate your RANKED top ten in the planet. Your first choice will get 10 points, second choice will get 9 points and so on. In the end, we will just add up the points. As for the classification, I will leave that completely up to you. If you classify Messi and Ronaldo as strikers/forwards, feel free to nominate them - some players can make it in more than one category, its understandable. The basis of your ranking what you think of the player - whom you rate in your "the world's best 10 strikers". I am assuming we can come up with a decent list of whom we thought were the best 10 of 2008.

We will do a separate one for midfielders, defenders, and goalkeepers once this is completed.

So go on. Post your ranked top 10 here.

Why are you crying about it?

He brings other players into the game, and has been top notch for Chelsea in the Champions leauge.

Scoring vital away goals both last campaign and this. sheesh.

I agree with but as Bluey said it is who was the best striker in 2008 in terms of form but more at the end of 2008 who is the best striker. for example if you did it for 2007 Eto would prob struggle to make the list if it was form but regardless of his form that year he would still make a list of the best strikers out there because he has it in him.

There are other aspects to a forwards game than scoring goals. And bringing other players into the game, holding up the ball are a few things Chelsea rely on from Drogba.

He's not even got many assists this calender year either. You're talking about personal agendas but you basically want to suck Drogba off at any instance.

No no he wants to know who were considered the best strikers. for example someone like Guiza had a super year but he shouldn't be on such a list because in the end of 2008 no top club, if had freechoice would pick him among their first ten picks imo.

Nope. Who do you think is the best. Thats it. If you had to choose say 3 strikers for your team, and they could be anyone, for just one season (so age is not the criteria), who would you pick?? Like that, pick your top 10.

I can see why my subject title confused ya, I have edited that. You can edit your list if you like.
