We lost 1 pt on Arsenal, you lost 2 on Utd. Ergo you twice as failed as us Smile

Didn't you have all your players fit though?

we had no Gerrard and no Alonso.
We had no Laursen, Bouma or Reo-Coker and Heskey/Carew/Milner/Cuellar all just returning from injury. And played midweek, while our opponents hadn't (opposite to your good selves Smile)

feel free to try again ok

I think Gerrard and Alonso are a bit more important than that shithole Reo Coker lol!

Has Ryan Taylor set up Steven Taylor from a set piece yet?

I would've thought the commentators are desperate to say "that goal was Taylor made"

Butt shuffles about getting in the way, the 2nd half suited him, but as a midfielder he should really have more about him.

Boro, if you scroll down to the 'Goals' section on this page you'll find one 'Taylor-made':

    http://nufc.com/2008-09html/2009-02-07westbrom-a.html

I'm happy with the draw today, given Nolan's sending off. We defended very well I thought: Steven Taylor and Bassong were exceptional all game - they were both so solid at the back, and Taylor looks increasingly capable playing up and down the right hand side (he has a lot of stamina, and he has good technique); Coloccini made some good interceptions and a couple of really good defensive headers in the second half; most of Everton's play went down our right, but Enrique still had a strong game at left back for us and he's put together a string of impressive performances now. Martins is superb at providing an outlet - he is much cleverer than is sometimes appreciated, I think - he knows how to hold up the ball, how to win free-kicks, and he can really pass the ball too - his ball to Gutierrez gave us probably the chance of the second half. Gutierrez just needs to relax a bit - he does need a goal or an assist.

Steven and Ryan Taylor linked pretty well down our right, even though it was sometimes difficult to tell who was the full back, who the winger - they are good friends, apparently, and if they can link down the right, and if Enrique and Gutierrez can continue to play well down our left, we should be strong in the wide areas for the rest of the season. If Martins stays fit, we are okay up front (though we'll need to decide who to partner him with, Martins is good enough to cause problems and get goals whatever); and Harper is a competent keeper; and we are looking increasingly solid in general in defence.

We just need to find something that works in the middle of the pitch. Butt always has and always will misplace too many passes, but I thought he had a good game for us today - he really worked hard, he was energetic, his mistakes were minimal. Smith isn't an option; Nolan is ridiculously slow and slovenly; Geremi moves just as little as Nolan and, though he's a better passer, he is less of a presence. I'm not too keen on swapping about the wingers, precisely because I think the Taylors and Gutierrez/Enrique can combine well down the flanks - it would be interesting to try Gutierrez in the centre alongside Butt, but until Guthrie is back, it is difficult to know who to play there.

On another note, I was impressed by the referee today. Lee Mason, they call him - I don't think we've had him much before, but today he kept everything very calm, and spoke to the players instead of rushing to book them.

Well we should be fining him as many weeks wages as possible. A suspension in our weakest position is the last thing we need.
