They have to play Blackburn, Newcastle, Stoke, and Portsmouth all at home...if they can even win two of those and pick up a couple of draws away (maybe Middlesborough or Sunderland) they'll stay up. Of course when is the last time they won? Maybe they won't...

Since they lost to Chelsea in the 10th game of the season, there record is :

    P17 W1 D6 L10

So absolutely awful. Can't see them getting close to 40 points if they are pushed that far, so the balls in Boro/Portsmouth/Blackburns court.

    @ DS/Cotter/Fey

I'm not sure if Keane received the ball to feet once in that god awful match. Bent is still shite. Can't control, can't sheild the ball, can't pass, can't beat a man despite all that pace... Useless. The winning goal was scored with him off the field anyway Razz

Palacios has made such a difference. he'll be flogged in 18 months for £25mil though Erm

Their season is turning out to be eerily similar to Bolton's 1st in the Prem with Big Sam & Brown (the one where Michael Ricketts was deemed good enough for an England Call up). Amass a load of points before halloween/Bonfire night, go on an awful 15-20 match barren run, and then secure safety in the last couple of games.

Jenas should be the one on the milk carton. Palacios played for himself and him.

Huddlestone should have Jenas' place though, so it can be an all-UNIT CM cheers

So convenient that you can't half but think the manager expected it all along and planned his season by design. If that's the case they should be comfortably safe.

ok it's a winning formula, slow and steady wins the race, but sprinting off into the distance and crawling half dead over the finishing line is better than Derby County's blueprint.

Huddlestone is a unit at best now. Palacios has taken it to the next level.

Huddlestone is a gentle giant, Palacios is an angry midget.

The thing is with him is that it's all mental. When you look at his attributes (athletic, pacy, sound technique, good in the air, decent striker of the ball) you think he'd be a very good goalscoring CM. I can't remember the last time I saw Jenas in the opposition box in open play at least 3 times in a game. It baffles me why he spends his time on the halfway line passing sideways, not playing with any conviction at all. The form he showed around 12-14 months ago is what he's capable of. That's what drives me nuts.

If you watched the off-the-ball movement tonight, Palacios was everywhere...from left to right, looking for the ball. The number of times he had to run past Jenas to try and receive the ball, even when Jenas was closer to the team-mate in possession, was utterly frustrating. At least if Huddlestone hangs around the centre circle and doesn't move much, he's got the vision to open a defence up, and he's willing to bang the ball on goal from distance.

Its because he is a pussy!! He is worse than Downing when it comes to this.

He cant handle the pressure, that much has been clear since the goldfish bowl comments.

There are players all over the place that have the ability..the mentality is always the big stepping stone, thats why so many go on to do fuck all.
