I like certain Arsenal players. But seriously having 4 English teams would trigger another British press hyperbole. F**k.

It really was poor. There was a handful of unstoppable ones, but most were pretty tame and the keepers didn't move more than 6 inches from where they started.

Still, well done Arsenal and bye-bye Italy. I'm hoping this means Arsenal are more knackered for the league, and drop some points. But not that they win the thing, obviously.

    PHEW

Poor performance, good penalties (except for Eduardo Shocked ). When Denilson came up to take his turn I thought shit, thats it, we're out but he (and all the others) did well.

However we're through and by the time q/fs come up we'll have more players back, and we have to be playing better than we did. That's all that matters.

Worst set of penalties I can remember in recent years was Chelsea against Man Utd in the Community Shield where I don't think they scored any. I'm just relieved that game is over now. Hopefully we get a kind draw for the quarters, we certainly need one!

    Top 8 again!!!! cheers

We should have won this game, so many missed opportunities, great saves from the Atlético keeper(fantastic keeper didn´t knew him before our games but they stayed in the fight till the end of the tie only because of him) and 2 balls hitting the bar...ufff. Not for the fainted hearted, a missed tackle or a lucky shot could have ruined it but what matters is that we are in the next round.

    Bring on the draw!!! cheers

I called tonetto 'cos he didn't take long enough before his kick but I'm sure most of you were as suprised as I was by Eduardo and, esp, Vucinic No

United should consider themselves the most fortunate side left in the comp though having somehow won after being taken to the cleaners on their own turf.

I bet Jose can't look Vieira in the eye right now.

Great Vidic impression form John O'Shite tonight, could have had a red for two bookings, both for persistent fouling, in the 1st half - he didn't get booked tonight affraid

I thought it was just in The EPL No

Worth pointing out that as poorly as Vieira did in marking Vidic, a man on the post would have cleared the header quite easily. I can't understand why Inter didn't have someone there, particularly when Man Utd are such a threat on corners.

When a player heads the ball into the corner without a man on the post we say "a man on the post would have saved that".

When a player heads home a corner despite two men on the posts we don't say "if they'd left the post empty and put the extra man in the middle he may not have won the header"

    Why is this ?

Thought Porto were better for the most part of what I saw in the second half. I wanted Atletico to win because they have Forlan+Aguero and would like to see them but I easily live with Porto going through since they still play some nice stuff and thankfully they aren't as disgraceful as Atletico at the back. I gues Madrid did shame to Spain.

Super goal by Messi for the second against Lyon, best goal of the round?

Man utd deserved to go through in my opinion.

Vieira looked below par than his usual self. But taking him off is not the right option.

I thought more than half the penalties were savable, of course saving Baptista, Totti, Sagna, and Nasri.

Pathetico are out, but what's new?

Vidic scores the 1st when he shouldn't be playing - whoever heard of a one game suspension for violent conduct ? No
