Inter will never be taken as a serious team outside Italy until they win the Champions League. They just don't seem to have the pedigree or the class. Have to say--I am thrilled about this result. Congrats Man U!

The jose couldn't overcome inter's lack of a real quality midfielder.
There midfield needs a Xavi/Pirlo
-----Zanetti--?----Cambiasso
-----------Lampard?
and they are good to go.

Bit of a jump for Afellay though.
For once, I agree with Agooner. They should also have a look at taking Hleb off Barca's hands.
They could always go in the market for these 2 Frenchmen that everybody wants right now...

Diego in for Lampard, a DM to liberate Cambiasso like Makoun/Palombo sp?(Sampdoria) etc.
Time to replace Zanetti too with someone like say Park, who can work hard and help out Maicon defensively but also can create and a weapon offensively.
And a targetman for Ibra to play with, call up Aquafresca.

The question is how much are they going to spend this summer.
They already spend around 60 m for Mancini, Quaresma and Muntari last summer and none of them are a success.

And there's 2 Spaniards that are available, also expensive, and could be a fit for most sides - Villa and Silva.

In fact, this deserves a thread...6 players, all the top clubs could/should be interested, but who will move, who won't, and just how much will their combined fees be!

I dont see where Ribery will fit into the team, Jose wont go 442, and 433 doesnt suit Ibra.
They can do with Benzema.

I don't think the difference between Inter and ManU was large enough for Inter to transform their squad. There is no need.
The only thing we need is a quality replacement for Figo. A top AM, hopefully a goal scoring one, I am sure thats the only priority that Mou has.
We also need to replace some players who has become too old... Matrix, Vieira, Crespo/Cruz. Sell Obinna, to trim the squad a bit. Thats about it.
Who would I like as replacements?
For Figo: My first choice is Ronaldinho. Second will be Hamsik. This is the area where we do need to spend big money.
For Vieira: Palombo is a good suggestion.
For Matrix: Any youth talent will do - this is just for back up.
Crespo/Cruz: Just recall Acquafresca.
Thats all thats needed. But if we have to move more, my choice will be to get rid of the creative junk we have collected - Mancini/Quaresma/Suazo,
and get one good creative winger/midfielder. My pick for this (as I had suggested before MOu moved for Quaresma/Mancini) will be Rosina or Foggia. These guys perform consistently in Serie A, and thats the kind of assured quality we need. But its very unlikely that Mou will do this. Most likely we will just recall Quaresma.

I think you need an overhaul of the midfield personally.
Did you guys tried Quaresma in Deki's position as a free role ?

No he didn't, lots of Inter fans were pushing for it, but Mourinho just stopped using him when he changed formations.

Diego/VDV and Hamsik and you're sorted!
Stankovic can move back to one of the DM positions. You might want to consider Adriano's position aswell, depending on how the season finishes.

I think he would be good there, his dribbling would be a thorn in the opposition flesh.Il Dragone wrote:DS wrote:I think you need an overhaul of the midfield personally.

It's a shame that Mourinho got rid of him so hastily after the Torino game. He would've been useful last night, especially with the formation he was fielding.
