Couldn't find the previous MLS thread...but anyway, thought our resident Arsenal fans would be interested to know that Ljungberg has finally regained fitness and made his first appearance for the new "franchise" Seattle Sounders in their 2-0 win yesterday. They're a totally new team, yet have won their first 2 games.

Ljunberg played well for Seattle last time out against Chelsea in the friendly. Kas, you know football is alive and well when you see MLS fans calling Beckham for what he is a FRAUD! I thought MLS fans were gonna eat all his hype, but man! was I wrong!

Did you hear all the stuff they were telling him? "overrated piece of shite" was one of the nicest comments he got. Biggrin <Ale>

Yup I think he's realised he can't just treat it like a joke and take the fans for granted. I don't think he'll go back next summer...he'll go to Europe in October/November, stay there till the World Cup, and then just take the summer off and move to whichever English club wants him.

I already answered that COTR! Anyone could say "A" to me and to you it will be a triumph, an 'ownage'.

Anyone could be talking out of his ass and its an ownage to you HAHAHAHAHA! I stand with what I claim, the bottom 12 teams or so in the EPL HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING on the top teams of the MLS. So there! <Ale>

I wouldn't be surprised if he moves before the end of summer to be honest.

Bottom 12? That's nonsense, bottom 5 maybe. But 9-16 last season were West Ham, Man City, Wigan, Bolton, Stoke, Pompey, and Blackburn. I'd say almost all of those teams(maybe not Stoke) would beat Columbus, Houston, DC, and New England 6 or 7 times out of 10.

He should, but the Galaxy probably won't let him. The hardcore fans were always going to turn on him, because it was obvious from the start he moved there for the media circus and the celebrity connections in LA. As soon as Landon Donovan called him out for not giving a shit(and he doesn't), he was done as far as fan support. That's Landon Donovan's team, and the fans know it.

The Galaxy and more importantly the MLS probably won't let him be sold in season though, he's worth too much to the league as far as ticket sales go. The hardcore fans don't like him but casual fans will buy tickets to see him play when they normally wouldn't.

DC United has a horrible tendency of building a lead in the first half and completely folding in the second...

Giving up a 2-0 lead against San Jose Sad

I'm going to miss Puro's gibberish Ale

MLS games are a nice day out. Good weather, lots of food (cheap), comedy Ultras (like the ones Puro mentions in his post, which amount to abour 20 people shouting "you suck!"), cheerleaders, announcers who mix advertisements seamlessly into the action, and never having to fight your way through public transport to and from the ground (unless you're in New York I expect)

As I've been to watch LA Galaxy not so long ago and I'm assuming Puro hasn't, every other Galaxy "fan" was wearing a Beckham shirt. Not bad for someone supposedly unpopular with the fans.

I'll be keeping an eye on the MLS for sure, but not because of it's quality - Houston would struggle to beat a team of Leicester's stature, and they were the reigning champions and top of the table.
