he played Starvin Marvin on the left though, every other time I've seen him for England or United he's played as a striker or on the right. He looked like a donkey because he's not really a gifted footballer, just a trained pace merchant. With him on his wrong foot plus Fafu behind him (have you ever seen a left back so desperate to make a beeline for the far post?) wasn't the greatest plan. I mentioned this during the game.

Re: FA Cup Semi Finals
I thought Marvin was good, held the ball up well, got ahead of Tevez into the box plenty of times, should have shot on a couple of occasions and ended up passing and losing possession but for a lad of his age playing an unfamiliar role as a sort of left sided support forward I think he did alright. I thought Macheda was more or less anonymous, but he was up against Lescott and Jagielka who are pretty uncompromising centrehalves.
Nonetheless, the absence of a true winger was pretty obvious, particularly as Glenn mentioned, with Fabio coming inside so much. Man U only got maybe three good crosses into the box in the whole game, and one almost got an own goal out of Lescott early on, yet they persisted with trying to force it through the middle for most of the match, partly due to the naivety of the younger players, Anderson and Gibson in particular were guilty of failing to use men in good positions out wide, and partly due to the lack of proper wide players in the selection (Rafael aside).

Re: FA Cup Semi Finals
Good times, and it gets funnier everytime I see it
Where was the respect for Everton yesterday by the drunk? He showed contempt for Everton with that team selection today, and it backfired wonderfully.
He remarked that Rafa showed arrogance and a lack of respect for Everton by calling them a small club. And yet within 48 hours he plays a side that featured a fair few youth players and essentially fringe players from the main United squad. No Ronaldo in an FA Cup Semi Final?
At least Rafa plays his strongest side possible against Everton, regardless of the small club comment. Of course, this is not the first time that Ferguson has showed a lack of regard or respect to the FA Cup- remember the 99/2000 season let's not forget.
Teddy Sheringham was a right twat as well on this very same point today- when asked how will the United team selection be viewed tomorrow, he explained it away by saying that Ferguson was thinking about "bigger things" at the end of the season. Bigger than a quintuple?
Ferguson had a right go at our manager for something that he clearly didn't research beforehand. Then he went and played a serously weakened side in a major semi final and got fucked over, showing the same lack of respect and arrogance (especially by refusing to give an interview) as what he accused Rafa (wrongly) of having.
I wonder how many empty gin, whiskey and wine bottles he threw at the wall last night/today? What with Salford native Mike Riley letting him down big time.
As for Gollum,
David Moyes on Everton winning the penalty shoot-out and booking their place in the FA Cup final: "We were struggling a bit to find five players who wanted to take them but luckily the goalkeeper has made some really good saves. It was a tough game for us - if United put out their Under-14 side it would be tough because they want to win everything they enter."
WTF?
I'm sure your team will appreciate those comments you conte.

Re: FA Cup Semi Finals
Ferguson really is cracking up like never before. Seriously this guy is losing it. Ridiculous, dull, unintelligent comments to the media, blatant hypocritical actions, petulant lunacy on the sidelines and using the pitch as an excuse when Everton had to play on it as well.

We haven't had Messi, Torres, or Kaka yet. Come on Arsene, keep it coming.

Re: FA Cup Semi Finals
That one is actually true.
Rafu and Fabio said they were approached by Arsenal scouts who were offering them trails, but rejected because their mother wanted them to remain in Brazil.
