Those benches are surprisingly weak when you think about it.

Has Toure played CB before? Could be a bit of a masterstroke by Pepe if it keeps Drogba from winning all those headers. Or it could blow up in his face
He has, but only on rare occasions. Maybe once or twice.
It's happened so rarely I don't know if I can make a good assessment. I don't think he's ever started at CB. I mean he's good at the air and his distribution is good from the back but I don't recall that he's ever had to mark someone seriously.

Not as weak as Chelsea's. Their only attacking option is Dutch overhype!

That's it Lrd. Hit me where it really hurts
Was the game as dull in the stadium as it was on the tele ?

pep has made a huge mistake, by playing busquets and kieta in midfield
we will lose our ability to control possession and get caught up in a end to end game, which is exactly what chelsea want
it will be like the valencia game all over again.
i would have much rather he started fucking carmona on the left and iniesta in the midfield.

Who?
Anyhow, I think it's as best as he can do. The mistake would have been to try and put Gudjohnsen in midfield or to put Bojan up front in order to leave Iniesta in the middle.
Obviously it would be best for you to have Toure in midfield but Pep knows that Caceres can't for any reason be on the pitch while the tie is still in question.

Not happy with the lineup, Busquets is prone to conceding a lot of fouls if the ref is having even a remotely bad day. Toure has never played CB for Barça. It'll be an interesting night for sure.
But I guess it's the best we can do. Does show that we rely a lot on our main 12 or 13 starting players. I don't trust Gudjohnsen or Hleb off the bench at all, and anything Bojan does is a bonus because you never know how someone that young will settle into a match.
Anyway, it's time. Vamos.

Hmm, same start as in the 4-2 defeat...someone loses the ball in midfield
Luckily this time Drogba wasn't expecting the through ball.

Must be nice to have the team you support go out on Tuesday and then pick up your "other" team on Wednesday.

Pep starts with Messi in the middle, Etoo on the left, and Iniesta on the right.

Messi has popped up on the left, right and down the middle so far. Never understood putting Eto'o on the wing.

Wow, that was better than Zidane 2002.
I can't believe we are again going to go out to a wonder goal from long range early in the 2nd leg
