Well a nice little comeback in the 2nd half to draw 2-2, but we can't allow ourselves to get behind like that too often once the competitive season starts up.

can any sane person think of a relevant reason why chelsea need a 798th central midfielder?
Can you imagine how sprightly and dynamic a midfield of Deco, Pirlo, Lampard and Ballack would be? Not at all one-paced. Never.

I am more interested how Sturridge does, clearly he is quite talented, a very good season and he may jump the pecking order of Defoe, Bent etc for England.

I've not seen much of Sturridge so far, the odd fleeting appearance for city and that's it. Hopefully he can step up as it is not that unlikely that Chelsea’s main strikers will have big-gay-girly fits at least twice this coming season. Toys flying in all directions out of their diamond incrusted prams, etc, etc.
