Anyone starting to feel sorry for him?
Or does he deserve this for some of the unjust praise he got?

If he doesn't take penalties this season and they stick with two strikers, I really think he may struggle to get 1 - 2 goals.
"For me, Lampard is guilty. He is guilty because you never had a player like him in the last 10 years and because of that you are having a go at him.
"He is guilty because he scored so many goals and he played so many matches and he always gives 100%, game after game, for Chelsea and England."

bluenine wrote:It was a ridiculous overhype due to the fact that he used to score so regularily.... I must say that I found his scoring record very confusing, coz he was/is not that good player... my opinion of Lampard has not changed (even after his bad patch)... he is a decent midfielder with a good shot.

Lampard had a good run, now he should maybe think about playing for Boro or maybe Wigan.
saintgoingmarching wrote:They should have sold him to Barca for 40 million.
No, wait, that story was crap and Barca are nowhere near stupid enough to pay that for him...

Still, Ballack's penalty was outstanding, and Lampard's celebrating with Ballack utterly contrived. All is not well in the Chelsea dressing room, that's for sure.
bollcoks. Missed= Charlton, Portugal, Hungary. He didnt miss a single pen in the prem last year. And same for the year before that.saintgoingmarching wrote:Lampard has missed 4 out of his last 5 penalties, and the one he scored wasn't particularly well taken and was almost saved.

thoroughly misplaced. Just about every midfielder who has played for England in recent years has given more than Lampard. Including Trevor Sinclair and Nicky Butt.
For heaven's sake, Owen Hargreaves has offered more of a goal threat and more creativity in the last 5 or 6 England games than Lampard has. This is classic Mourinho - in trying to cover up the fact that he knows he bought Ballack to account for Lampard's deficiencies, he goes too far and it becomes an obvious attempt at skewing the truth.
