I'm not sure whether my opinion will have any influence on the matter. I haven't a clue as far as this deal is concerned, I can only go by what I read. I would like him to stay and I think maybe he should.

Steven Defour's agent says we're in for him. Perhaps we're getting both, Defour for the week and Aquilani for Sunday best. It would be nice to think that Rafa has seen how injury prone Aquilani is, gotten him cheap and gone for Defour as cover over Lucas. It would be even nicer if Alonso stayed.

I will just repost what I wrote in Madrid thread.
Aquilani is a wonderfully talented player allthough I wouldn't say he is a direct replacement for Alonso. Aquilani is not as specialised a player as Alonso since he can also play behind a striker and has one of the best shots in the game:

He can't make those long passes like Alonso but he can offer those magic passes:

If he was spanish he would be one of my top choices for role next to Lass.

If you can pick between Aquilani and Defour its fairly easy, Defour it is then. Aquilani looks like a girl ffs. Besisdes Defour dominated the Pool midfield last year! And he led the Belgian Liverpool to their first title in 25 years!

Sky Sports News understands Liverpool are closing in on the signing of Juventus midfielder Christian Poulsen.

Juve are open to the sale of the Denmark international and a number of sides have been linked with an interest in his services.

Premier League duo Fulham and Everton are among those clubs said to be admirers of the 29-year-old.

But it is believed that Rafa Benitez's Liverpool are in pole position to secure Poulsen's signature.

It is speculated that the Reds' move for Poulsen could be linked with Xabi Alonso's uncertain future, amid interest from Real Madrid.

I think we're probably going to sign every single CM in the world to replace Xabi tbh. That's the third player we're definitely going to sign in two days.

    R.I.P Xabi Sad

He's been gone for a while now in my head, and I'm glad this shits finally sorted. Was my favourite player for us, football wise. So am still gutted none the less that it is all official.

Hopefully draw the c**ts(Real) in the final of the Champions League and own them again on their ground, just have that feeling we'll draw them tbf Smile
