seems as if it was only a one legged tie.

Can't remember Chelsea ever being truly under the kosh at the Nou Camp.
As far as I remember, Barca spent the whole match passing it around in pretty triangles in their own half whilst the chelsea defence sat down in the 18 yard box and had a spot of afternoon tea.

we only had to play well for one minute to win the tie.

you really can`t say they become stronger, only chelsea got the same level
and no quality players on the market (only villa, silva)
What market is that - fantasy football? Soriano has made it clear (I'll make it simple for the terminally dim witted! -- he's the President of Valencia Lerd -- the one who makes the decisions, which appears to be beyond your powers of comprehension) several times that neither Villa or Silva are for sale. He doesn't want to sell them as he sees them both as vital to the success of the club. That's Soriano's view Lerd. The President of Valencia doesn't want to sell them.

It was chelsea captain john terry who said, something along the lines of, its not that we didnt want to play, but their midfield didnt let us, they couldn't go anything but set back, if it weren't for injures and we had played our 1st choice midfield at the bridge, things would have been different

Football Genius wrote:Tweeds, whilst i agree with the general concensus of your post, i doubt very much that Vermeulen will bring leadership.
He is very young (for a defender) will be in his first year at Arsenal, and has much to learn.
He may very well sure up your defence, but leadership is not a quality i expect him to deliver for Arsenal at the moment.
From F365:
Thomas Vermaelen - Ajax to Arsenal for £10million
Is it any wonder that Arsene Wenger tends not to shop in England? Joleon Lescott cost Manchester City £22million (rising to £24million) after a torturous pursuit that involved falling out with another Premier League club and generally looking like total d*cks. Arsenal signed a player of (arguably, and on meagre evidence so far) a similar standard for less than half that price.
What's been especially interesting about Vermaelen's appearances so far is how much his presence seems to have improved William Gallas's performances and - perhaps most importantly - temperament. Gallas looked half the player he once was next to Kolo Toure, but alongside Vermaelen he has been rock solid. It might be a stretch to say this, but has Arsene Wenger in fact spent £10million on two new centre-backs?

i only can see barca beating chelsea from all team in the world
they have so much iron will, so much steel, so much organisation
last year it was the first or second game with hiddink against juve, thats why they looked not that strong
diego against chelsea, cant see him doing anything special, and hes the only real threat for enemys, not like barca, they have 5 or 6

Far too early for those sort of appraisals. If he had a horror 4 games (or however many he has played) you'd have the same website publishing a damning article slamming Wenger for going for yet another 'inexperienced' player.
For what I heard, Vermaelen had a bit of a horror season at Ajax last year, so it'll be interesting to see if he keeps this admittedly good form up.
