As underwhelming as the Mancs Midfield is, I'm sure he'll react better to having Carrick/Scholes/Giggs/Nani/Valencia create chances rather than Butt/Duff/Nolan/Jonas.

At Man Utd he'll be more relaxed with his finishing, knowing that he'll get at least 3 good chances a game. At Newcastle it was 1 good chance every 3 games.

What difference should it make if he gets one chance rather than three?

He definitely will score more at United no doubt but United could have done much better than him for sure. I could think of about 12-15 strikers alone in the EPL who are better than him.

If he needs to be relaxed to finish then he obviously isn't that clinical. Being a good finisher is about being able to put away chances under pressure.

Owen's more of a big game player than a flat-track bully though Ray, and I'm not sure how much luck 5ft 8 strikers have against teams that park the bus.

Why? Did you not see United against park the bus teams last year? It's difficult for any team to create clear cut chances in those games. They needed Ronaldo/penalties to win the matches. Think about how much harder it will be when they have only 10 players contributing. Owen won't start anyway, he will just do what solskjaer did, come on and score the fourth goal when they are already winning 3-0.

Any time United drop points and Owen is on the bench there will be a big media fuss. It will be just like Keane at Liverpool. As soon as Owen scores a couple he and the media will be demanding more play time, which fergie wont give him.
