I think it's an unfair decision, and Chelsea are a bit cruel to go after a player in court for a sum he clearly can't afford.
I wonder how many clubs could have cases against former players that just weren't bothered, or got distracted by matters off the pitch and thus lost their club a lot of money because of the transfer fee. Newcastle vs. Owen, Chelsea vs. Pizarro are two that come to mind.

that's horrible! Chelsea are a disgrace if they make him personally liable. Juventus should probably pay something, they benefitted directly by getting a quality player for free and then selling him at a huge profit.
