As groups go, England's contained 2 quarter finalists from the last world cup (unmatched by anywhere except the S.American qualifiers) and a team who reached QF of last Euros, but were unable even to finish 2nd here.

I think only Spain's was stronger.

Croatia are an overrated side, especially after they beat England.

Ukraine couldn't even qualify for Euro 2008.

    Nor could England Smile

Croatia got more hype after they outclassed Germany at the Euros.

England have proved unlike, France and Portugal for a start are worthy qualifiers for the world cup.

Germany have struggled, Italy look a shadow of their former self. Argentina look awful.

AND yet still BoBo you find time to criticize your home nation England.

Right now we look good for a quarter final place.

I really fear them when they're in this form, it's just like them to stumble into the final with horrendous play and then win it on an offside goal or an unjust penalty.

Believe me : when the Germans play like this, they're at their most dangerous.

(it's also bad for your eyes watching them, but after 15 minutes of Uruguay - Argentina....the Germans look like subtlety and creativity personified)

I do not disagree with a word you have said, however they are breaking down shite teams by winning 1-0... this isn't an Italian team being solid defensively and nicking a goal. This a shite team nicking a goal against awfully inferior teams (Russia excluded)

I just cannot see THIS Germany team beating a resiliant opposition with sharp teeth upfront.

I'd imagine a 2 perhaps 3-0 whitewash from the current Dutch team for example.

Your attack would run riot with that German defence... they've not been tested yet.

Spain, Brazil, Holland would IMO destroy this Germany team, perhaps Italy and England would also win.

IF France and Portugal qualify it'll be fuck all to do with their 'quality' rather Fifa's manipulation of the qualification procedure to allow these 'great' nations to be there through seeding.

Where is my England hype? WHERE?... i set a benchmark as a quarter finalist... you say thats nothing to write home about, i'm not declaring it is... however its a fantastic achievement for a country who has never even qualified for the last Euro's...

For the record Rio had a fairly decent game tonight, did you catch the game? Do you not see the irony between you constant berating of the player, and one of the most successful Italian managers of all time believing he is as good as any other centre back in the world?

Are you - a nobody right? or a great manager who has won many titles in many countries right? Well i'll leave that judgement upto everybody else..

    Please hold back your urges.

IF France and Portugal qualify it'll be fuck all to do with their 'quality' rather Fifa's manipulation of the qualification procedure to allow these 'great' nations to be there through seeding.

Well most of Fifa's draws are based on some sort of seeding.

Where is my England hype? WHERE?... i set a benchmark as a quarter finalist... you say thats nothing to write home about, i'm not declaring it is... however its a fantastic achievement for a country who has never even qualified for the last Euro's...

I wasn't referring to you specifically, just generally the fans, and the media.

I wouldn't consider it a fantastic achievement. You seriously underperformed during the last Euros. Just because you improve on those very low standards which had been set (and now start performing at the level people expect from England), does not make it a fantastic achievement.

For the record Rio had a fairly decent game tonight, did you catch the game? Do you not see the irony between you constant berating of the player, and one of the most successful Italian managers of all time believing he is as good as any other centre back in the world?

Well i saw him playing lots of hoofed balls, yet people still claim he is such a technically gifted CB.

Capello also loved Zebina, and thought he was one of the best defenders in the world. Same with Panucci. The reality is, one was crap, the other was average.

Are you - a nobody right? or a great manager who has won many titles in many countries right? Well i'll leave that judgement upto everybody else..

I could ask the same thing to you, or anyone on this forum.

I suppose we should never discuss any manager's selections ever again because they are always right and have won more trophies than us.

    Quite...

Ferdinand althought 'SOLD' by the 'PRESS' as a ball playing centre half.

Is actually good, because he defends well, and has done since World Cup 2002, so 7 years then, because he is playing through an injury recently you feel its neccessary to claim he is now finished? or never was a good defender?

Look if you don't rate him, so be it... the fact remains some of the greatest managers of recent times put their faith in this player.

I see him as a rock, many other football fans do also. You don't.... so i say to myself, well if me and and all these other fans are wrong, who else do i look to for confirmation? Sir Alex Fergurson? Capello? etc....

He may not be the 'Pele' of defending, but currently, he'd get into ANY OTHER NT in the world at centre back.

I'd rather discuss through my interest, why you actually believe hes a useless (bramblesq) defender.

Did he offend a team you support?

    Did he shag your mum?

    Does his face anger you?

What is the reason you don't rate him? bearing in mind over the last 7 years hes been as good as any other defender in the world...

You know this isn't true. He was a complete mess when he first joined Man Utd, and has made numerous mistakes throughout those 7 years.

Look if you don't rate him, so be it... the fact remains some of the greatest managers of recent times put their faith in this player.

So i guess by this logic, a player like Camoranesi must be great? Capello, Lippi, Trappatoni and Ranieri all put their faith in him.

I see him as a rock, many other football fans do also. You don't.... so i say to myself, well if me and and all these other fans are wrong, who else do i look to for confirmation? Sir Alex Fergurson? Capello? etc....

It's just my opinion. Other posters aren't so keen on Rio either (e.g Glenn, Khadrim). If you want to look or confirmation, try reading what Baresi wrote about Ferdinand.

He may not be the 'Pele' of defending, but currently, he'd get into ANY OTHER NT in the world at centre back.

I beg to differ. CURRENTLY, he is one of the worst CBs in the world.

I'd rather discuss through my interest, why you actually believe hes a useless (bramblesq) defender.

Did he offend a team you support?

    None of the above.

You're right Bobo the facts are wrong..

Theres no way in the world that Rio is a top class defender, depsite of course leading a defence to win 3 consecutive PL titles in a row and two CL finals + winning one... those were ALL a fluke... he is so shit, he rode his luck for 4 years solid... FOUR WHOLE YEARS.

He is no Beckenbauer... You are RIGHT, however to dismiss him as a world class centre back upon those achievements, as part of one of the most successful british teams of recent history is ABSURD... YOU ARE ABSURD...

Are you really trying to tell us, that he as carried by a team who play attacking football, and his only help being 1 out of 11 of his team in Vidic?

You are out of your mind...crazy.

Funny how he only started winning these things after Vidic, VDS and Evra joined. Either way it's a crap argument. He plays for a big club with great players around him. Of course the team will win some honours.

For your awfully uninformed information, he won a league before any of the above players were at the club... how do you explain this?

So United won the league and European cup with no contribution without Ferdinand, infac they carried their captain? lol! lol!

United attempt to play attacking football, hence their team having like zero holding midfielders... just WATCH THEM....

I support the most hated of rivals of United, however to claim they do not play attacking football is anything but a joke... YOU BoBo are a JOKE..

Not uninformed at all, since i was talking about the 3 consecutive EPL titles.

He was terrible in 02/03, they certainly didn't win the EPL because of any great contribution from him.

I saw United against Barca - they didn't play attacking football.

    Night night!
