He won the league...
Your so full of shit, it makes a baby cry when they shit themselves every day for 38 weeks.
Whether you like him as an individual or not, he is one of the best 5 centre backs in the world FULL STOP. (i'm a Liverpool fan)

Funny how the English always use those achievements to claim Rio is top notch, yet still claim Van der Sar is crap....while he has those same stats...

Says the one who cannot help but force his opinion on Ferdinand on other people...
What a country

If you actually read, absorbed my post. You'd realise i was making the very point you elude. Consistancy wins you leagues, and Ferdinand a.) consistantly starts games for United b.) United then go on to win most games and c.) Have won the league 3 seasons on the trot as a result.
And i find it hard to stomach 'He plays for Man Utd, of course hes going to win the league!' - funny that, i assumed there were 38 games to be played first, then the team with the most collective points walks off with the trophy. Now if what you are referring to is, United have an excellently assembled squad of gifted expensive players then you're right, and Rio is one of those. You don't play for 10 years at the highest level and not get found out if you shite.
You clearly don't like the fella, fair enough, so why don't you grow a pair of balls and say 'i don't like Ferdinand, however its clear hes a quality centre back' Because on one hand we have you expert opinion, and on the other we've had;
Sir Alex Fergurson
Fabio Capello
Steve McClaren
David O'Leary
Harry Redknapp
All football men, who have been in the game, well their entire lives firmly disagree with you.
Thats before any praises sang from other football men through the press.
Sometimes BoBo when you have such a limited knowledge of a subject in this instance its football, you have to clearly examine the evidence and opinions of those who have extensive experience and who have worked with and alongside the player himself, and arrive at the judgement that your initial analysis of the player is quite frankly a load of shit.
How can so many people, managers, players, pundits, fans all be so very wrong when presented with the evidence, yet BoBo - you be right? Perhaps instead of taking cheap pot shots at the player, you'd prefer to resort to evidence to substantiate your opinion. You know clearly outline areas of weakness in his game supported with a portfolio of examples highlighting how those weaknesses have led to the teams he is involved with failing.
You do not win 4 EPL titles 3 on the bounce during arguably the most competitive era of this league and a Champions League hold over 70 caps for his country as an integral component of a teams defence without being a top class centre back.

I've nothing against the Italians, but they've got to be one of the Worst "post WC winning" teams in memory.
We were pretty poor yet we were the only side to stop Spain scoring and this was a CB partnership of 2 fullbacks who had never played together before.
On paper it doesn't look great for us atm, but don't underestimate Lippi's ability to get it together when the finals tournament comes round.
Dunno why you brought up the euros anyway. Shall we rule out England based on the Euros then?

Fair point.
However, Rio has pedigree from before joining United -
part of an emerging West Ham side who ended up getting relegated shortly after his sale to Leeds,
where he helped guide Leeds to a CL and UEFA cup semi final, including scoring a fine header against Deportivo in the quarters,
and had a SUPERB World Cup in 2002. Faultless display, particularly against Argentina in the group stages.
I'm not comparing this with VDS' career, because I didn't follow much of him, but needless to say I'm not one of those who does not rate him.
I find it strange the depth of which Bobo does not rate Ferdinand, despite proving himself at 3 clubs, at EPL, European and International level.
Playing poorly right now, but it's typical Ferdinand - he will get it together when it counts in the World Cup for England. Never let us down in a major tournament to date

Iceland beat South Africa pretty easy while they were the worst team of the Holland group!
This were the same South Africa who reached the semi finals of the World Cup! :shoc"k:
