Werder Bremen vs. Stuttgart 2:3 final score.

    Congrats Stuttgart.

Werder in a crisis, there is no point in arguing. Now it clearly shows that it definitely was a bad idea to let Fahrenhorst move to Hannover. We had the most stable defence of the second half of last season, and now we have a defence that is in shambles, and Mertesacker who still is not fully fit yet.

God, the last few weeks have been awful for us.
What a huge chance wasted, leading 2-0, HSV and Bayern losing...dammit.

Schalke now have a very good chance to take the lead, by beating Hertha who have a weak defence as well. As much as I hate to say it, but it looks good for them.

Schalke are very capable of losing points as well. As they've done so often in the past. They're hot and cold. Compare the match against Bremen and that awful showing in the Uefa Cup.

Magath is killing me with his substitutions. Always Scholl and Salhamidzic. They've been great for Bayern but it's not 2001 anymore. Give Karimi and Dos Santos a chance in midfield for God's sake. At least for a half hour. Karimi is a great dribbler I'm sure he could create a chance or two.

Yeah, it's a shame that Karimi doesn't even get a chance against minor opponents like Bielefeld.

glad to see our Bremer Wonneproppen firing on all cylinders, spreading their own particular brand of sunshine

    your fan motto should be:

it may be " Fuenf vor Zwoelf", but also remember good old Luther would have planted an apple tree the day before the end of the world

you might want to ask the MONSTER to help you plant an entire orchard now, and we all know, he would probably agree to do it and not charge any money. in fact, he would seek your praise and approval

Bremen don't need the MONSTER or indeed Mertesacker back though, they need FAITH

without BELIEVERS the Bremer Vaterstadt is nothing but a struggling Hanseatic city, its air filled with the smell of coffee

my dear Bremer, remember, you are more than mere coffee-makers, you are Europe's most attractive football town, you make the world dream

Well done, Stuttgart Exclamation Coming back from being 2-0 down isn't easy, especially at the moment. Good to see Gomez scoring as well; Hitzlsperger had a few good moments--shame his pass/low cross couldn't be converted.

So... The VfB won, Bayern lost (and didn't look as if they were with it, or so I thought), Aachen were entertaining... and Hamburg got beaten by Dortmund. Not bad! Very Happy

Keeping the faith is fine, I still have faith, and will never lose it when Werder is concerned. But even you can't possibly deny that we seriously are in a crisis now.

Just let us look at the results of the last few weeks. We go slaughtered 'auf' Schalke, were lucky not to have conceded more than those two goals. Then we embarassed ourselves in the cup, losing against a third division side, one of the worst results for Werder in the cup ever. A few days later, we lost against Chelsea in the CL, and now we lost against Stuttgart 2:3 at home, after leading 2:0.

Something went terribly wrong in the last few weeks, and needs to be fixed ASAP, otherwise we will be in for a rough ride in the next few months, and can forget about winning the Bundesliga.

    Torwart Enke trauert um Tochter
    17. Sep 14:35, ergänzt 15:47

Seit ihrer Geburt litt Lara an Herzproblemen.

(nz)

Hertha managed to beat a surprisingly weak Schalke 2:0 at home, so Effenberg's prediction earlier in this thread became reality. Hertha at the top of the league now.

Frankfurt finally managed to beat their bogey team Leverkusen 3:1 at home. A great week for them, after they thrashed Bröndby 4:0 in the UEFA cup.

All the matches of week 4:

    Hertha - Schalke 2:0
    Frankfurt - Leverkusen 3:1
    Wolfsburg - Hannover 1:2
    Nürnberg - Bochum 1:1
    Bremen - Stuttgart 2:3
    Dortmund - Hamburg 1:0
    Bielefeld - Bayern 2:1
    Aachen - Gladbach 4:2
    Cottbus - Mainz 2:0

Pl. Club Games g. d. l. Goals Diff. Points
    1 Hertha BSC 4 2 2 0 7:1 6 8
    2 1. FC Nürnberg 4 2 2 0 5:1 4 8
    3 Bayern München 4 2 1 1 5:3 2 7
    4 Borussia Dortmund 4 2 1 1 5:4 1 7
    Energie Cottbus 4 2 1 1 5:4 1 7
    6 FC Schalke 04 4 2 1 1 4:3 1 7
    7 Eintracht Frankfurt 4 1 3 0 5:3 2 6
    8 Alemannia Aachen 4 2 0 2 7:6 1 6
    9 Werder Bremen 4 2 0 2 8:8 0 6
    10 Borussia M'gladbach 4 2 0 2 5:5 0 6
    11 VfB Stuttgart 4 2 0 2 7:10 -3 6
    12 1. FSV Mainz 05 4 1 2 1 4:5 -1 5
    13 Bayer Leverkusen 4 1 1 2 6:6 0 4
    14 Arminia Bielefeld 4 1 1 2 5:6 -1 4
    15 Hamburger SV 4 0 3 1 4:5 -1 3
    16 VfL Wolfsburg 4 0 3 1 2:3 -1 3
    17 Hannover 96 4 1 0 3 4:12 -8 3
    18 VfL Bochum 4 0 1 3 3:6 -3 1

The Bundesliga looks very unpredictable and therefore exciting this season. Even the mighty Bayern have slipped already. I still expect a very close title match.

Well, as much as it hurts me to say this, but Stuttgart beat us at home this weekend. Since most experts and fans see us amongst the favourites for the title this season, you can imagine that this is quite an achievement for them.

Osario and Pardo still need to gel with the team, but their commitment and work rate alone have made Stuttgart stronger already, that's for sure. They have the right attitude as well, not like a lot of South Americans who unfortunately often lack discipline.

anglophilehedgehog, who is the Stuttgart fan on this board, can tell you more about this. But IMHO, the Pardo and Osario transfer was one of the best of the league this season.

Good question. Their Serie B start could have been better at least, to put it mildly. Deschamps is a good coach though, so under normal circumstances, they should be able to make it back to Serie A. Time will tell.
