Portugal 98?
France 94?

This was considered the golden period of Argentinian football. At the time of the 58 world cup Di Stefano, I believe was playing for Spain.bluenine wrote:Argentina 1950 & 54 could ve gone all the way... that was a great generation of players who never played the world cup. Argies dominated the copa america with 3 consecuitive titles before & after the period of exile.

They play with Mati and Sanchez(of Udinese) behind a striker. Can't remember the strikers name though. They're a bit typical of Bielsa team allthough with more wing play.Black Magic wrote:Who starts for Chile in Midfield Puro? What is Mati's role?

Puro
Perhaps the most exciting team to watch imo along with Spain. Their big test will be how they deal with the europeans physicality.

Exactly allthough he has allowed for some flexibility compared to earlier. Chile look a bit like Russia at times in their collective play. They share the same danger of not beeing good enough at crossing and finishing off chances.BoBo Vieri 32 wrote:Super Higuain wrote:They play with Mati and Sanchez(of Udinese) behind a striker. Not only the physicality, but European teams who are prepared to sitback and soak up pressure. This is where Bielsa's Argentina failed.
