League: got them from PL fantasy football.
Cup: got Owen's CL numbers from CL site.
Personally counted Heskey's Europe stats, and the league cup stats from match reports on BBC. (only 3 league cup games each and villa played twice in Europe).

It's possible I made some counting errors, I did this pretty quickly. So feel free to double check.

But until you have some fresh FACHTS to offer, perhaps lay off the insults and consider it's just possible you were wrong?

The "Going for Gold" of football forums, indeed. Keep it coming chaps your most important players for the next world cup? - Page 4 F_ale2

Litti I still think most German fans appreciate how Ballack has helped stabilize the team and prevent it from getting defensively ruined in recent years while still offering something offensive, but interesting viewpoint as ever...

Going for Gold was the best thing on TV back in the day. Everything about it was class, from the props to the barely literate contestants from places like Iceland and Novia Scotia, and of course the host, Mr Henry Kelly.

Actually I already see an error. Owen has in fact played 267 not 265 mins in Europe. I apologise.

I made a statement, you suggest you've made errors... i'm still fully aware of those errors... try again son Ale

You've missed one critical element of football, INTERNATIONALS... surprising really when it would have only enhanced your point Wink

Make of me what you will for helping your arguement...

However, i'd rather be bringing on Owen than Bent to get a crucial goal in a World Cup game... wouldn't you?

ole gunnar solskjaer offered little else than goals, however he won the manc shite the champions league in minutes.... thats all it takes, a goal in one moment, something Owen is very capable of... would you disagree?

Good point on internationals. That makes it unequivocal that I am correct about Heskey playing more than Owen this season. Of course, I will still graciously accept your apology for being so rude earlier (glad to see you're back to Jekyll mode anyway) Ale

I too would rather be bringing on Owen than Bent. But I'd rather be bringing on Defoe than Owen. And in some circumstances I'd rather Crouch or Agbonlahor/Walcott than Owen.

I think it's pretty likely we'll be starting with Rooney-Heskey as that's a combo Capello seems to like. For the bench then, I think Owen is competing with Defoe and Defoe is ahead of him for me. Then there will be either Crouch/Cole, and maybe an all-out pace player like Walcott/Agbonlahor to give different options. It can all change with injuries, form, etc., but that's how I see it at the minute.
