Dominguez claims Valencia ready to swoop Empty Dominguez claims Valencia ready to swoop

Post by Super Progress Fri Dec 11, 2009 6:44 pm

Rubin Kazan forward Alejandro Dominguez claims he is on the verge of completing a move to Primera Division outfit Valencia.

The Argentinian was the stand-out performer in the Russian side's eye-catching effort in this season's Champions League, when they took four points off Barcelona and also drew with Inter Milan before ultimately being forced to settle for third place in Group F.

But they will have to take on the Europa League without Dominguez, who had long planned to leave when his contract expires later this month.

"My move to Valencia is almost complete. I have pushed to complete it now because I want to play football in Spain and dream of having [David] Villa and [David] Silva as team-mates," he told superdeporte.es.

"It is true that Rubin offered to extend my contract for another season and that is a gesture that I valued greatly, they have always been great to me.''

The 28-year-old, who scored spectacular goals against Dynamo Kiev and Inter in his side's opening two Champions League games, is reported to have turned down moves to Roma and Juventus in favour of his preferred destination in Spain.

Super Deporte claim his three-and-a-half-year deal will be worth 1.5 million euros per season, with a signing-on fee of 2 million euros.

Good deal for Valencia on this one. If he delivers right away they have a replacement for Silva who they can then sell on for big money.

Unfortunately. Over on Futbolitis they say he's a second striker/attacking midfielder who also play on the left for Zenit.

I suspect Valencia are lining up Dominguez as a replacement for Villa, who will surely be leaving by next summer.

Dominguez could replace Silva and other attacking midfielders. Not Villa.

Why? Valencia have sorted out their finances (for the moment) and are in a really good position to qualify for the CL. Where would he go? A big club like Liverpool? Rolling Eyes

But they haven't really fixed their economic players though, have they?
At the momemt though he doesn't have a club to join except Chelsea who have the money but are going for Aguero. Except for them I can't see what other clubs that have the money plus the stature(so no City).

    For the moment they're sorted.

They're 510 million in debt but are due to receive 350 from the sale old Mestalla plot and the sale of the Mestalla tower blocks (?). They've also raised 92 million in capital. Couple that with CL money, increased revenue from the stadium and sponsorship rights and they should be fine.

But is that 350M really coming though? I belive this was the point people were raising that they couldn't find anybody to buy the land. Has that been confirmed?

The MD's drawn up a feasibility plan for the club that would run up to the 2014-15 season. This would include reducing the teams budget from 106 million to 80. The sale of the Mestalla forms part of that but if it doesn't go through he said they'd be looking at other sources of income.

The club seems pretty confident about this plan and the nay-saying articles seem to have disappeared completely in the last couple of months.

If he's the replacement for Villa, then Valencia are fucked. If he's the replacement for Silva, then it's decent business. If he's there for squad depth, then it's a pretty damn good business for Valencia, given he's a freebie (so to speak)
