This is dismal though and shows no real sign of improvement - he needs to go and let the Murdoch group get the 4-4-2, its all about Stevie G and Torres man that they want.
Dismal this season but great performance overall - hope he gets one of the top jobs in Spain.
He has had an excellent 4 or 5 years since he joined us but this team is dead and the only way to fix it is to get rid of his favourite players which is obviously never going to happen
Rafa out

What exactly has changed since last season, surely Arbeloa and Alonso weren't THAT important? Fuck me!

I've acknowledged that he's been shit this season
Still did a great job though - they were the best team in The Premier League 2008/2009 season.
Best team in Europe 2005, best team in EPL 2009 - thats surely reaching his targets befoire he joined.

Rafa had his 200th EPL game recently and statistically he was miles ahead of any other manager with regards points/wins from their first 200 PL games.
This season has been horrible though and there aren't many excuses that will wash with me.

To be fair - if you're clearly the best team in the league but don't get the trophy for reasons I think we've been through time and again on here, its going to demotivate your squad for the following season.
They should never have capitulated like this though and that has to be the manager's fault.

Gutless, spineless, no flair, no ability. Load of shite, the team have let the fans down badly and Rafa has lost the dressing room. Spearing centre mid for the next 4 games as when Torres is fit Rafa doesn't give a shit about any other strikers no matter how poor our midfield is.

How on earth can you say Alonso was not that important. He dictated everything we did and was our best player last season.
Instead we add another non creative player to the mix in Lucas which only exposes the lack of creativity in the rest of the midfield with Kuyt suffering the most because the pressure is now on him to actually do something other than run up and down the right wing as many times as possible.
As soon as Alonso was sold I said in the Real thread our season was over and it has been proven correct although I did not expect it to be this depressing.

I know he was important, i just didn't know he was the difference between being one of the best teams in europe and being Englands whipping boy.
Much like Murray, you've missed the point again Paddy.

Writing was on the wall for some time if one player you think made all the difference it shows just how bad the club is.

City is already 2-0 up, first goal scored by Santa Cruz after Bellamy's pass, second one by Tevez from penalty spot, after Bellamy was fouled (soft one for me). Maybe Mancini will replace Bruce .1445: We have unconfirmed reports that a certain Mr Roberto Mancini is at the City of Manchester Stadium today to watch them take on Sunderland. This morning, he was linked with the job with Mark Hughes widely thought to be on his way out. Keep you posted

Great finish by Henderson to tie the game, Given barely survived to not be hit with this explosive shot, he could be easily injured

I don't like bastard, but he is very effective since his big money transfer from West Ham.
