Mourinho has gone 8 years without losing a league game at home. Will this weekend be the end of this amazing streak?

Internazionale vs Milan this weekend, what do you think will happen??

Milan will win they have the momentum and hunger. Inter would probably take a draw right now.

Usually this has little bearing on a big game like this.

Usually your predictions are good though lrd, like when you said Liverpool would beat Fiorentina at Anfield...

Yeah, he does revel on these kind of games... but this will be a tough one considering our recent form.

I am hoping Sneijder will make the difference again!

So Milan's team i assume will be

    Borriello
    Ronaldinho---------Beckham
    Seedorf
    Pirlo---Ambrosini
    Antonini-Nesta-Silva-Abate
    Dida

Inter's team seems less clear, but i think perhaps this: (blue can correct me)

    Pandev-Milito
    Sneijder
    Stankovic-Cambiasso-Zanetti
    Santon-Samuel-Lucio-Maicon
    Cesar

Though I guess if players like Santon, Stankovic and Cambiasso don't recover in time, he will continue with the 4-3-3.

That does seem to be the consensus on what Mou will do, except Cordoba is more likely to start in place of Santon (who apparently does not have full game fitness yet).

But (assuming these guys are fit) I would like to start the following:
    Milito
    Balotelli - Sneijder - Pandev
    Stankovic-Cambiasso
    Zanetti-Samuel-Lucio-Maicon
    Cesar

    IMO thats Inter's best formation.

I don't think either of them are naturally fullbacks so both are weak defensively. Abate is quicker and is therefore more suited to playing fullback IMO. When Pato returns, do you think Beckham will be benched?

What are you basing that on?

Form and momentum always is a factor in some way. Milan believe they can win and their confidence is sky high. If it were anything else they'd not have a chance to win this game.

Nope, it's a genuine question. I can't imagine Beckham would be happy to warm the bench.

Inter have a great chance to overpower the Grandas in Milan's midfield. I'll predict a comfortable 2-0 win.

Form and momentum matter but form doesn't look forever, and there's no such thing as non stop infinity momentum so of course there'll be instances and games where that stuff has happenend, i don't know why you felt the need to point some out. Anyway i'll let others discuss this match. But for sure Milan are on a charge it could end a draw but i really don't see Inter winning.

Yes but it happened in a big game. Liverpool were in crap form before and after the game against Man Utd, yet they produced a big performance in a big game despite their poor form. Same goes for Juve with their match against Inter.

in Leo's 4-2-1-3 formation, Becks's best chance is in Right Fullback spot considering his cross and experience

I think it will be Zambrotta(if fit) and Antonini at FB, with Becks or Abate for the other position on the right side.

Pato not playing is a big blow for us, as we do not have any quality backups for Dinho/Pato (or Nesta/Thiago). On the other hand Inter are missing Eto'o, but they have a much deeper squad, so it won't affect them as much.

IMO they are still huge favorites for the Scudetto even if we beat them, but it's so annoying to see that we could realistically compete for titles if only our cheapskate management had the decency to do the absolute minimum and buy a couple of decent players.

That probably is Inter's best team, but way too attacking for a Mourinho team: just 1 DM, 1 CM, and 4 attacking players Laughing

I expect at least Motta or Muntari (depending on fitness) to play instead of Balotelli or Pandev.

As for the result, earlier in the week I felt Milan would definitely get a statement win, but now I'm not so sure. Inter will be happy to stop Milan playing football, and not play any themselves, and take a scrappy 1-1 draw or something similar.

    Not good news Sad

Inter Coach Jose Mourinho Sweating Over Midfield Injury Crisis Ahead Of Milan Derby - Report
The coach is working hard on a makeshift midfield... Mourinho's pre-derby worries continue to heighten the tension at Appiano Gentile after the losses of midfielders Dejan Stankovic and Thiago Motta.

Il Corriere Dello Sport reports that both the Serbian and Brazilian have been forced to give up hope of making Sunday's meeting with Milan, as they continue to work in the gym away from the rest of the squad. And the casualty list has grown bigger as there are also major doubts over Sulley Muntari's appearance. The Ghanaian was forced to leave training on Wednesday after suffering a muscular strain. He too is likely to miss the Scudetto showdown.

Mourinho has called up a number of youth team players as a precaution, so that he can work towards putting together a strong enough midfield with the resources he has.

Ricardo Quaresma and Amantino Mancini are available, but the coach is likely to field a five-man midfield that can adapt with Javier Zanetti and Esteban Cambiasso in holding roles while Mario Balotelli and Goran Pandev will flank Wesley Sneijder as part of an advanced midfield behind lone striker Diego Milito.
