This is only gossip, uniteds priority will be to sign a good keeper and they should put hargreaves down like a dog, then buy a defensive midfeilder who will actually fucking play

Not that quick and physically weak means you can't play in between midfield and forward(s) for a big 4 team with any great success.
Surely not. Perhaps at the beginning of his career, but since Mourinho's days at Chelsea Cole has bulked up and is a tough little fucker.
The speed thing is also flawed, given the success that Sheringham and Bergkamp for example enjoyed playing a deep role at top 4 clubs. Cole is quicker than both (if less capable in terms of passing).
And he SHOULD be starting at Chelsea, who are already a top 4 side - it's only his injuries that mean he is not - clearly hasn't had the opportunity to stake a claim in Ancelotti's diamond midfield.
It seems clear to me that he'd be good enough to get into any of the top 4 sides. Either on the wing, as a deep lying second striker or in central midfield. Better than Nani at United, certainly good enough to get into Arsenal's front 5, and you can take your pick who he could replace at Liverpool
Our treatment room is already full thanks.

Re: Joe Cole to Man Utd?
Latest news is that he wants over £100,000 a week, which is quite a bit more than his current 75,000 a week when you consider that he's hardly playing. Abramovich has said that he'll consider the pay rise if he starts playing more, but Ancelotti is thought to think that he's too slow at the moment to play in between midfield and attack.
I really like Joe Cole, but it is true about his pace, or lack of it. Still, I hope something is worked out and he signs for another few years. Apparently Spurs are looking at him as well.

Re: Joe Cole to Man Utd?
JOE Cole is poised for a summer move to long-time admirers Manchester United if there is no agreement on a new contract at Chelsea.
The midfielder has been on Old Trafford boss Sir Alex Ferguson’s radar ever since he started impressing as a precocious schoolboy in the West Ham academy.
Ferguson would regularly ask the then-West Ham manager Harry Redknapp “How’s Joe doing?” when their paths crossed. It was Chelsea who moved in for Cole seven years ago – but now Ferguson could snap up the 28-year-old on a Bosman free at the end of the summer.
Cole’s current £80,000-a-week deal is in its last few months with talks on an improved contract having stalled.
It’s believed Cole wants more than £100,000 a week – and he has grown disillusioned with the lack of progress on talks.
He is also frustrated at the lack of first team chances since he returned from a nine month injury lay-off and it has made him think about taking on a new challenge.
If he was to leave then friends say he favours a move to Chelsea’s title rivals Manchester United. Ferguson would be keen on bringing Cole in, as United would only have to pay wages for someone who would normally have a £15 million price tag.

Surely it works out better than say 10 mill on 70k a week?
Thing is Giggs is on 100k i believe and he has a year left max. Cole would basically be replacing him for no cost.

Re: Joe Cole to Man Utd?
He'd be a quality signing for you as a tie over while Giggs career wanes and before you have the finances to get your next world class winger. Does have his injury problems but if you're getting him on a free that doesn't really matter.
You're still desperate to get Benzema then?

According to Soccernet and their "inside source", Ferguson will be looking to spend a big chunk of the 80m from Ronaldo on a striker and goalkeeper this summer.

Re: Joe Cole to Man Utd?
I can see a goalkeeper coming in, possibly even a centre back unlsess Rio can sort his injury problems out. Not sure about a striker though, guess it depends on Berbatov sorting his form out. If Joe Cole does come in it could mean more games with Rooney up top on his own in front of Valencia, Joe Cole and one other.

The cash is gone dude. Goalkeeper year after next maybe. Villa if he becomes possible otherwise really don't see it. J Cole or Di Maria + Smalling probably about it, maybe a decent striker and boot out Owen.

Forgot about him. Should be ok with Rio, Vidic, Brown, Evans and Smalling then.
Agree with Lrd that a goalkeeper will probably come the year after next.

I doubt Arsenal will want to sell Chamakh this summer, or if United could afford him.

It's not been announced by the club but it is widely regarded to be a done deal. He wants to go to Arsenal + Arsenal want to sign him + He's a free agent = Maths

I'm pretty sure I saw a quote from him recently pretty much confirming that he was coming to us in the summer.
You're welcome to try and bid for Bendtner though.

Joe Cole is demanding £100,000 a week at Chelsea? GOOD LARD!
Vargas to the Mancs for that £100,000 a week, and he'll be on the VERY CHEAP FFS!
Joe Cole (based on what he produces ON THE PITCH) should be AT MOST on £40,000 a week, and that's being very generous.

I take that back. VARGAS should NEVER be anywhere near Slur Alex for he doesn't know how to manage foreigners: Kleberson, Forlán, Verón, Tévez, Berbatov, Anderson, the Twins (they now play like Gary Neville FFS! ) ...and many more.
Vargas to Liverpool to once and for all shore up that left flank. IF Rafa could've been able to fork out the extra 5 mil for Vargas instead of signing what's his name? Oh it just came back to memory Dossena.

A couple of Reds I know who are very close to club officials were told Rafa never any intention of signing Dossena orginally. He was interested in Vargas though. But our chief scout who's name I cannot remember for the life of me highly recommended Dossena and was adamant Dossena>>Vargas. Some say the scout in question got a nice pay day from the deal.
I'll look for that thread later on.
Suffice to say if we signed El Loco I'd be going Loco
(Never going to happen now though )
