Since its the first time in years we'll be getting a new CL winner outside of the usual suspects, I'm quite looking forward this years final.
One of the teams will get a treble and since both managers are bigger than the team, I'll post a few pics to wet the appetite a bit more.
Who will win? God or El Traductor?
Here are some pics

There's a really great photo of Van Gaal and young Jose at Barca but can't seem to get online, pity.

As always there's an interesting preview done by Zonal Marking - http://www.zonalmarking.net/2010/05/21/inter-milan-bayern-munich-tactics-champions-league-preview/
Most important ones for me:
Most important ones for me:
The main dilemma is who to replace the suspended Thiago Motta with, in a crucial role for Inter (more on that later). There are three options for Mourinho here. Playing Dejan Stankovic there would be a very attacking move, whilst Sulley Muntari would provide more of a battling quality. The most likely replacement, however, is Cristian Chivu, although this may mean that he starts at left-back, with Javier Zanetti moving forward into midfield, as he did, for example, against Fiorentina.(...)
(...)Like Inter, Bayern’s starting XI in the second half of the season has been fairly predictable and they have stuck to a 4-4-2 / 4-2-3-1 shape. The spanner in the works is Franck Ribery’s suspension – if van Gaal is keen to keep the same playing system, with inverted wingers, then Hamit Altintop will start, which seems the likely scenario according to the German press. There would be value, though, in fielding Danijel Pranjic there, a more defensive option, considering the forward surges of Maicon will have to be looked after.(...)
(...)The Chivu/Zanetti dilemma is an interesting one, because Inter’s left-back will have the most important defensive job up against Arjen Robben, whilst their central midfield partner for Cambisso might be the freest player on the pitch and see a lot of the ball. Zanetti’s superior passing ability means he will probably get the nod in midfield, with Chivu sticking solidly to Robben on the flank, although the two could switch, especially if the man who starts at left-back picks up a booking.(...)
(...)Bayern are set up quite well to face Inter’s defence. Walter Samuel and Lucio have coped very well with tall forwards like Didier Drogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but in Serie A they have sometimes struggled against smaller, pacier forwards. The work rate of Olic and Muller will cause them problems, and Muller will also have a defensive job to do on Esteban Cambiasso when Bayern lose the ball.(...)

Zanetti + Cambiasso in midfield is not a good idea. If Chivu is to come in, i'd play him as a DM next to Cuchu and keep Zanetti at LB, since Chivu's passing, especially long range is better than Zanetti's. Also Chivu at LB against Robben is not a good matchup from Inter's perspective - he's less athletic than Zanetti and left footed. Still i think Deki should play, good long range passing, great work rate and can support the attack when needed. Last time Motta was suspended (against CSKA) it was also Stankovic who replaced him and he did very well.

Is it likely to be Badstuber or Contento as a left-back?
Personally think Altintop and Olic will steal the show. Two players not going to the world cup

Advice from Dutch pundits : if Van Gaal wins the CL and you're going to the celebrations then you'd better bring your own lunch, because he will break Fidel Castro's record

A lot of people on here don't follow the German league as much as the 'big 3' leagues and seeing as the majority of posters on here are British it's no surprise that there's not as much as interest as previous years.
The fact that it's on a Saturday has made it seem less special as well IMO, it just doesn't feel right.

Badstuber will be raped by Eto'o IMHO, bad idea to play his as left back today. Contento would be better, and like ZM pointed out - decision to play Pranjic as left midfielder should be considered too, to help keep Maicon in check. But on the other side - it's Van Gaal. he rarelu builds his game plan on stopping the opposition, which is great for entertainment value, but sometimes can work against him.Özil wrote:line up, i think there no surprises

Not against Inter's counter attacks and Sneijder having a little bit of time to play through ball behind Badstuber for Eto'o to run onto.Özil wrote:serious, i think eto raped no one in the whole cl campaign, and if he really has not on the wings

Although it has to be told, that Bayern full backs are quite conserwative in their style and attacking approach, which has to be considered as surprise for such an attacking team like Van Gaal's.

Altintop will be crucial in this match. He needs to have a very good one, then Bayern's chances will increase quite a bit.

ZIDANE insults Bayern
"Zidane: „Ich bin überrascht, dass Bayern im Finale steht. Es ist eine gute Mannschaft, aber ich hätte nicht gedacht, dass sie das schaffen. Doch das ist das Schöne am Fußball. Nicht nur die Besten kommen ins Finale.“
"I am surprised Bayern are in the final. they have a good team, but I would not have thought, that they could get this far. the beauty of football is though, that the BEST TEAMS do not always get into the final"
FUCK YOU, Zidane
presumably, the BEST team would have been his beloved REAL
maybe the BEAUTY of football is that even stupid idiots can become good players
but will always remain stupid idiots

What is wrong with this statement Otto ?
We are all surprised Bayern got to the final, including yourself and extraordinary luck has played a very significant part in them getting there.

This is tonight? Forgot about it tbh. Doubt the CL will get many more rates on a Saturday. For travelling fans its much better though.
But we shouldnt all be suprised both teams got to the final, I mean both are not really small clubs now are they?
Inter are the favs imo. 65% to Bayern 35% I would say.

You are a way better German then Otto!
But you are right, of all the big clubs, Bayern is the only one who is healthy I believe. So this has to pay out someday I guess.

I'm really looking foward to the CL final tonight even though I'm surely no Bayern fan normally.
The interest in Germany is of course huge. The Cup Final last weekend was already watched by nearly 11m people. I think the CL final will top that easily.
The Allianz Arena is sold out, the Olympic stadium in Munich as well. The weather is good, so I guess there will be public viewing in many different places outside of Munich/Bayern too.

Some on here seem to have the funny belief that this board is representative for European football fans in general.
