spox, the best German site for sports news and analysis just did their review by ranking the teams/clubs

    http://www.spox.com/de/sport/fussball/bundesliga/1005/Artikel/saison-check-bayern-muenchen-schalke-04-mainz-05-robben-van-gaal-magath-tuchel.html

    16. Bochum
    17. Hannover
    18. Berlin

    --------------

    well,

I suppose what Bundesliga novice TUCHEL did at Mainz , indeed, borders on being a MIRACLE

he did not even have time to prepare the season properly

come from the youth-management side, and immediately BEAT van Gaal's Bayern

PREDICTION: Tuchel will become Nationaltrainer within the next 20 years

    ---------

what Magath did at Schalke, blows my mind even more though

he took Rutten's SQUAD, fortified it with KIDS nobody had EVER heard of before

chaps like Matip, who scored on his Bundesliga debut against Bayern Yikes

Schalke are THE nightmare club in the Bundesliga

    yet Magath TAMED the BEAST

    Shocked

    ----------

GROSS at Stuttgart , though, produced the best SECOND part of the season

outperforming even Bayern who were beginning to gel and steam ahead

    Yikes

ANYBODY who places GROSS as MANAGER of the SEASON has a good case, me thinks

    ----------

TOP FIVE MANAGERS for me though

    1. Magath
    2. Tuchel
    3. Gross
    4. Klopp
    5. Skibbe

    WORST FIVE Managers:

    1. Veh
    2. Babbel
    3. van Gaal+Moniz
    4. Funkel
    5. Slomka

    PLAYERS of the Season:

    1. Frings
    2. Kuranyi
    3. Jansen
    4. Wiese
    5. Kroos + Müller

    TALENT of the Season:

    1. Müller + Kroos
    2. Hummels
    3. Köpplin
    4. Reus
    5. Bender

    GOAL of the Season

    1. Petric
    2. any second goal by Pizarro

MOST LIKABLE player of the Season

    1. Pizarro
    2. van Bommel
    3. Olic
    4. Gebhardt
    5. Merte
    6. Dzeko

MOST ICONIC player of the Season

    1. Lehmann
    2. Lehmann
    3. Lehmann

    MOMENT of the Season

    1. Lehmann stealing the glasses
    2. Lehmann rearranging his crown jewels
    3. Lehmann BREATHING

    HIGHLIGHT of the Season

    1. Labbadia getting the SACK
    2. Veh getting the SACK
    3. Mainz beating Bayern

    Highlight of NEXT SEASON

    1. St Pauli joining the 1. Bundesliga
    2. Kaiserslautern the 1. Bundesliga
    3. Poldi becoming top goal scorer
    4. van Gaal getting the SACK BEFORE the Oktoberfest

    genuine mistake, axel

no Bundesliga manager drives me as nuts as Labbadia

this SYSTEM-manager-nonsense, with ZERO people skills

the ommission of Labbadia on the list was a trick my SUBCONSCIOUS played on me

to pretect me from utter insanity

I rate Labbadia on a par with Moniz

    ie, equally bad

Labbadia started off well: the first half of the season was NOT bad

    then , everything collapsed

on average, he could therefore have been even worse

    Moniz was a HUGE disappointment

    he really HAD TWO MATCHBALLS

he could and should have led HSV into the FINAL of the Europe league

which would have been the biggest international coup since Happel's days

all it took was ONE GAME against mediocre Fulham

    Moniz fluffed it Yikes

he could also have DESTROYED Werder HEARTS in the final game and kicked them out of the CL

BRAGGING RIGHTS + 15 million Euro lost

THAT alone would have made him popular with the fans

    he fluffed it as well

    Yikes

cannot make up my mind who is worse: Labbadia or Moniz

you could make a case for either one

one of THE highlights of the season

    without ANY doubt

    was

    von Bommel

    Ale Ale Ale

    axel

you have always tried to insult us Germans on here by calling van Bommel "a German"

    Yikes

that was the BIGGESt compliment you could have made

the truth though is that van Bommel is the BEST NEDERLANDER EVEr to have earned his money in the Bundesliga

    Ale Ale Ale

    top character

    and HUGELY important at Bayern

Rummenigge just raved about him again

saying van Bommel called Timo when he had private problems

visited Demichilis at home when he had been down due to his injuries....

vB really is the DADDY of the team

his HUNGER to win knows no bounds either

and when Lahm sounds pessimistic as always, van Bommel is more upbeat

    ABOVE ALL

the whole van Gaal BEHAVIOUR would have BACKFIRED badly without van Bommel

who could act as a cultural translator

    a BUFFER

20% of all the credit won by Bayern this season should go to von Bommel

    What a bunch of shit
the best player of BL is me
the goal of the season was created by me, I had so many clutchers it's hard to define, a more apt description for some of my braces would be goal of the decade or possibly century
the manager of the season is van gaal?...no me, I was his personal advisor, told him who and when to play and dictated the strategy and the pace of the game, before and while on the pitch
the talent of the season is me no doubt this goes without saying and is irrelevant of particular season we're talking about
the moment of the season is when i raped schalke by myself and made magath shoot deathrays out of his eyes

and the highlight of next season is...anyone? anyone? you guessed it - me again

as a general rule of thumb, the words "highlight of the" can not be anteceded by anyone of german descent unless bundesliga is completely void of any foreign players. Even then "highlight" would have to be replaced by "least mediocre"

What do you think of DUTT Otto?
Is he another streamlined nobody or a possibility for a big club in the next few years? Tuchel put him into shadows this saison, but Dutt had the weakest team (imo) and saved them from relegation.
I've heared he did a supreme job at the Trainerschule.

Dont know what to make of him though

Edit: I see you like Pizarro as much as Puro and myself. Great player

Everyone must love Pizzaro. I'm glad he came back to Werder, almost looked like it wasn't going to happen. Some of the best goals in the whole league and it's always nice to see someone excel somewhere else. So much talent on the Bremen side, but Naldo is my favorite. Blush

Edit: I see you like Pizarro as much as Puro and myself. Great player

no idea what to make of Dutt either

    Favre/Funkel at Berlin

    Slomka+others at Hannover

+ the Bochum lot did such a bad job

that it's difficult to know how well Dutt did

in general, the good ingredients for a good manager are

    CHARACTER/personality

    NATURAL authority

being a good PSYCHOLOGIST: arguably the most important quality

    intelligence also helps

but really, the KEY is the ability to understand what makes players , and what makes a MANNSCHAFT tick

    ADD

    a bit of experience

    which HELPS A LOT

    and bob's your uncle

Tuchel fits in perfectly with this little theory of mine

no idea where this leaves Dutt though

    -----------

as for Pizarro: he is easily one of my top 3 players in the league

arguably, saved Werder's season this year Ale

There is no history between Bremen and St. Pauli other than having a 'common enemy' - the clubs and fans like each other.

There was just one incident in the past, the Pokal match in St. Pauli on frozen ground which Bremen lost, and which should have never been allowed to happen. The pitch was simply unplayable.

That list is pretty arbitrary - but I think Dutt deserves it for having to deal with Mo Idrissou.

Re: Babbel: Then why didn't our officials react appropriately and get someone else in?

Seeing that the squad is being restructured (and how many outs and therefore ins we have and will have) - no, not really. Hotte is known for his last-minute-shopping, which won't help either.

and where does Adolf live now, IF he is still alive ?

    and

could Louis van Gaal really be his SON

    and Robben his grand-son ?
