If your nation or the team you support does not win the world cup, who would you most prefer to win it??

For me, if Italy crash out (or rather when they crash out), I would probably want one of Germany or Serbia to win it.

It would ve been Argentina, but not without Zanetti!!

I remember Simeone being a bastard for sure. To be honest there's not many countries I would say I hated. Portugal are always a bit of a cuntish team and obviously Germany are Germany but apart from that I don't have any problems.

Owen's goal was of course pretty sexual.

As was Argentina's clever free kick move that led to Zanetti's goal.

As for Mr Simeone - he came charging through Beckham, clear foul and he was anything BUT a victim. Beckham was petulant with his kick, but Simeone's reaction was just an embarrasment and disgrace. It really shouldn't matter what nationality you are, it's impossible to defend that sort of behaviour. Had it been an England player, I would think exactly the same.

That's the premier league for you though, it happened in Euro2004 aswell against Portugal - we see players challenging keepers in the air all the time in England, but when it comes to internationals and with international refs from countries where Keepers are protected, those challenges result in free kicks.

The fact that neither did, and Shearer's was, only goes to show that refereeing decisions are quite often, totally inconsistent

Faking an injury is not a yellow card offence, otherwise someone like Drogba would never be able to finish a match.
