Post by Hlebagone Wed May 19, 2010 10:35 pm

No, this isn't a continues of Otto's oxymoron watch. Rather, this world cup seems to herald a new generatation of German attacking footballers. And Badstubber.
Could those more familiar with these prodigious talents tell me their playing styles, likelihood of starting, and how they expect them to fair at the upcoming world cup.

    Cheers guys!

Özil will definitely start. Kroos is in worrying danger of missing out I fear. Marin hopefully has good chances of playing too, though maybe Müller will instead. Dennis Aogo had a great game last week at left-back innit. KP Boateng is a c**t.

Manchester United just purchased Marko Marin for 25 million pounds according to my younger brother's game of Champ Man.

The German talent is unquestionable, all they now need is a leader and someone to guide them away from a fate of "nearly" men that the likes of Podolski for example currently inhabit.

I suggest the DFB employ Otto, with Blut or Effenberg as the (sane) right hand man , Allez (who speaks more languages than C3PO) as global translator and Ozil as buff bodybuilding facking cheerleader Ale

A bit late admittedly, but how can I fail to update this thread following such DOMINATION against the poor Australiants.

Firstly, an apology. I forgot to mention the burgeoning talent of Sami Khedira, who gave an excellent performace in midfield, and probably moved more in this match than Ballack did all season.

But ultiamtely, the award for German talent of the day must go to Oezil. A dynamic and deadly performance, he exploited the space between the midfield and defence of Australia brilliantly.

An honourable mention also goes to Mueller, who i'm starting to see as a rich mans Dirk Kuyt.

    Deutchland!

Müller is not like Kuyt at all. The only similarity is the early pressing he provides. Müller's nickname is "das Phantom", because of his very dangerous runs in that delicate area between the opposition defence and defensive midfield. He is the incarnation of a modern supporting forward - physical, fast, skillful, intelligent.

He was joint MOTM with Özil for me.

How upsetting. It's almost looking like I dont watch that much German football. I was focussing on the pressing mind. The rest of Muller's attacking game is far superior, hence the "rich mans" Kuyt.
