FFS! this was Africa's chance to validate their 6 spots in the WC. It's a fucking travesty that they get more WC spots than anyone else besides Europe. After this WC showing, in their own house no less, they should only get 4 spots maximum. They've got nothing to bitch about, they sent their 'best' teams, their strongest African representatives, and they've managed to be a fucking embarrassment in their own house no less.

EMP used to rant about it all the time. I think 5-6 is about right since Africa has so many teams. South America has only 10 so 4-5 is enough Puro struggles to grasp this.

Also his point was based on the fact that historically South America+Europe were dominating the tournament and Asia and Africa only came much later and have more countries in it. Also when you consider that Europe comes alot of teams who fail to impress like England for example then I wouldn't mind some more teams from Africa and Asia. We don't need 14 European teams at the World Cup but that is just my opinion.

Take it easy, Puro, in the next WC Africa will have 5 spots again and South America will have 1 extra spot, since Brazil will host. That will be our WC, believe me. I expect 4 South Americans to reach the quarters in the next WC.

The 1986 WC would be in Brazil, but Figueiredo, the idiot that was president at the time (our last dictatorship president) , didn't want it. So Colombia took it but then gave it away.

Uruguay were shite against France. They will get beat by either Argentina or South Korea. Paraguay weren't much against Italy, but should go through to be beaten by Holland. As for Chile they'll be fighting it out with Spain and Switzerland to get out of the goup, only to be raped all over by Brazil. So a team other than Brazil or Argentina might get through, but it is far from likely.

First of all in 1978, unlike Peru, we went to the World Cup without our 2 best players (Cruyff & van Hanegem), despite that we reached the final and lost v a doped up Argentina team. You can't just decide how a not played match would have finished (IF my uncle had tits he'ld be my aunt). Brazil had a great team in 1978, so did we. We beat them in 1974 too.

Mind you in the 2nd group stage we had the reigning World Champs Germany & Italy in our group. We won that group.
