Fifa World Rankings - World Cup Group Scores

Just out. Someone on the F365 mailbox has added up the rankings for each of the teams in each group and this is the result:

Group D 73 Germany
Group C 77 England
Group H 82 Spain
Group B 88 Argentina
Group E 104 Holland
Group A 125 France
Group G 136 Brazil
Group F 148 Italy

So a big FUCK YOU to all those that said that England got a piss easy draw

Who are Italy likely to face in the knock outs?

...I've seen various attempts to decide which is the hardest group at the World Cup. The obvious problem with the adding up the rankings of each group approach is that a team like North Korea distorts things. So, I've put each team from 1 to 32 in order of their world rank and then added them up for each group. So Brazil is number 1, Spain number 2 all the way to North Korea as number 32. Results are:

Group A (France) = 67
Group B (Argentina) = 64
Group C (England) = 61
Group D (Germany)= 59
Group E (Holland) = 74
Group F (Italy) = 83
Group G (Brazil) = 57
Group H (Spain) = 63

So Brazil?s group is just more difficult than Germany's. Italy's group is by far the easiest with Holland?s group also relatively straightforward. So far as i can see this is the best way to decide which is the hardest group. On the whole though, all the groups are relatively similar. The only clear anomaly is Italy's group. Bloody Italians.

The best way to decide is by looking at the teams in the group and making your own judgement rather than relying on a flawed ranking system.

Well either way we can all agree that Italy's group is a pile of piss!

Having said that, there run after the groups doesn't look great. Probably going to have to play Spain in the quarters.

We nearly beat them when we had an amateur coach, no Pirlo, no Cannavaro, and Panucci as a CB ffs!
