With everyone skying their freekicks so far, it has to be the new ball, right?

Its so stupid to introduce a new ball just before a world cup... if they have to change the ball, do it at least a season before so that everyone can get used to it...

Yeah I think it's the ball. Notice how nobody has been able to get it to dip - in every free kick I've seen, it passes the wall and keeps rising.

Ronaldo's style should be interesting. And I'm also curious to see if Xavi can achieve some dip with it.

Pirlo can also achieve a lot of dip with it, shame he'll be absent for the first game.

    Likewise Drogba in both regards.

They're idiots for introducing a new ball each WC. We always have this furoure and IMO it does affect the quality of the games, especialy at the start.

Whilst we're talking about players that should be able to master it.... RVP? Whistle

Whilst its being skied over the bar its certainly travelling faster.

Kolarov whipped a free-kick only very slightly off target from quite a way out and the keeper was well beaten.

Cant be that hard to learn how to kick it though. They've had a bit of time to practice.

Maybe they're just shit at free kicks?

No wonder Germany played well, it's made by addidas. How come they seem the only ones capable of scoring with this ball. Bam

I haven't seen many good freekick positions so far in this tournament and most freekicks don't hit the target anway.

    Can't see anything wrong.

There's a lot of players wearing thsoe colourful Nike boots, and maybe the adidas ball just doesn't work properly with them?

Blame the boots not the ball Wink
