    http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/statistics/teams/compare/index.html

Good site to test agendas by easily comparing players/teams performances at the world cup.

Although how much the stats say has to be questioned.

For example, I found that England have made more passes and a higher rate of successful passes than American masters such as Mexico, Uruguay and Paraguay - and have almost identical passing stats to Argentina scratch

What chinteresting stats can YOU find?

the difference is where you do the passing. doing it in defence is easy. when attacking the marking is much harder and it's more difficult.

Yup, agreed mongrel. Could break it down further by looking at the individual players of these teams and see who's passing most, which would give a clue where the passing is happening.

But i'm not quite that bored yet. Maybe later Wink

If you add up the circumference of all the penises of all the players in each squad then you find that the national team with the widest dicks are, contrary to popular myth, not African.

    Maybe I am that bored.

    Angel di Maria...

In 174 minutes, made just 69 passes of which only 34 were successful.

Goes to show how little involved he's been. Emile Heskey has made more successful passes Yikes

edit. Oh great. Saints has come on to ruin my SERIOUS stats discussion Sad

I was only messing about, but in all seriousness you should look beyond pornography (sexual artifice) before asserting your expert opinion. Otherwise you just look like a faggot.

    Scientists/anthropologists/biologists.

I'd google it and find the link for you except I'm at work and wouldn't particularly fancy being pulled up by my boss having being found googling 'penile girth scientific experiments' or something of the like.

You said the exact same thing the last time this came up. And for the record I am CERTAIN that you have looked up worse things while at work.

Plenty of scientific/anthropological/biological studies have said untrue things. What I'm saying is that the studies that identify any specific relation between race and penis size are prejudiced, or just poor studies. Is there quite a lot of variety? Yes. Are there some black dudes with massive dongs? Yes. Is you viewing porn in any way a scientific measure of penis size?

    No.

I still don't believe that Diego Benaglio could run over 7,5 km during game against Spain - it's awfully lot for a keeper.

Maybe he paces up and down all the time, even when the ball is nowhere near. Watch him closely later.

He run 2,5 km during 1st half against Chile. For Switzerland it's a similar game to the one against Spain, will he run 5km during the 2nd half? Wink

    Makes sense

From the time the second goal went in Germany were just happy to sit back and soak up the pressure and hit England on the break which England were happy to let them do.

England actually had a lot of the ball early on too. I remember being quite pleased with the possession in the first 20 mins, though worried about how brittle the defence looked.

Plus you have to take into account all the punts at goal from Gerrard and Lampard

England created about five or six real chances and two of them went in.

Germany created eight or nine real chances and four of them went in

Some more chinteresting STATS and FACTS

    • Wayne Rooney has lost the ball by being tackled in possession more often than any other player at the 2010 world cup finals
    • Rooney also completed only 55% of his passes for England against Germany - the lowest rate in the game
    • Manuel Neuer's assist for Klose's goal was the first by a goalkeeper at the world cup since 1966 (Kavazashvili for USSR)
    • Frank Lampard's free-kick onto the bar was his 37th world cup shot without scoring, more than any other player (1966-2010)

The stat about Rooney losing the ball doesn't surprise. He would constantly get the ball tangled among his feet, then take ages and several touches before passing. I wasn't sure about all the "he's clearly unfit" explanations, but given how we never saw his usual little burst of pace when he first receives any pass, maybe there's something to it.
