My vote goes to Quagliarella

Endo's free kick was a beaut.

Podolski's was a good one too. Neat build-up and a real good hit.

Tshabalalala and Quagmire, my vote goes to Chaba Lalala

Quag and Lalala are my favourites so far. lalala edging it.

They're all good goals but none deserve to be goal of the tournament. I am sure that is yet to come

Probably go with Lala's because the celebration was pretty slick.

Maybe I'm being picky here but I think a good keeper would have saved Quag's, whereas there was no saving of some of the others

Quag without doubt because a chip trumps everything else.

Fabiano's first was excellent too. Slightly lucky build-up but a heck of a finish.

Oh yeah his and donovan were awesome goals. Plus ronaldo's seal dribble and maybe Maicon's.

It's not just the beauty of a goal, the importance of it should be a major factor, too. Quag's was beautiful, but rather meaningless.

There have been a few goals that already fit both criteria so far, but the tournament is really going to start now. It's the knock-out stages where usually the truly great goals are scored.

I agree with that.... and the importance of goals will only grow from here, so the "goal of the tournament" is surely yet to happen!

Quag so far, I always like chips.

Because of Honda technique and nice build up in general, I am thinking about 3rd goal for Japan against Denmark too.

Another contender from Villa - so much harder than it looks, esp with weak foot.

Plus the ball was bobbling a bit, yet he managed to hit it sweetly first time. In the split second between realising Villa was on the end of that loose ball and the ball leaving his foot, I knew it was a goal. He's scored from long range before.

It's a bit easier when the goalkeeper is not there.

Bobo, IMO it's highly likely that Spain will not win the World Cup. So your anti-Spain-hype stance will be vindicated.

But there's no need to embarrass yourself in the meantime by attempting to dispute every small thing and fit it to your agenda.

Have to see it again, but I wasn't that impressed either. Kind of expect a good striker to score those.

Generally I don't rate these long range goals. Never got too excited about Alonso's halfway goals. Can't say what it is but just doesn't excite me in any way.

Spain have not been so impressive so far, even Jaime has admitted as much. Certainly not the "best international team ever" as some others have been saying, and certainly not justifying their hype.

It's nothing to do with agendas. The goal didn't impress me. It goes down as a goalkeeping howler. Villa took it well, but i wouldn't consider it as one of the goals of the tournament. Even Diego Tristian scored a similar one against Man Utd.
