I watched the game, it was definitely a cross. The reverse angle shows his eyes looking at Van Nistelrooy's run all the way through, and trying to put it on his head, but overhitting it...and goal! Typical of Kuyt Laughing

But overall, it was a very good performance by Holland...they are looking like a very solid team, building on the momentum from the World Cup.

IMO the biggest factor in their favour is that they have a fixed team now: the back 5 are the same (bar Pieters who is new at LB). De Jong is also a permanent starter, and his partner rotates based on opposition: VDV or a more defensive player (although I would always play VDV).

In attack, RVP/Kuyt/Sneijder are fixtures. Afellay was brilliant in the past 2 games, so it'll be interesting to see whether the coach drops him for Robben, or just uses the latter as a super-sub.

Either way, it's a strong team overall as long as the defense plays well together.

It was defo a lucky, Kuyt immediately afterwards made gestures to confirm that.
