So you are saying our squad is missing what? 2 first team players. And the teams that it would be embarrassing for us to finish above are all stocked in all positions yeah?
Arsenal the team without a half decent goalkeeper, or a leader in defence.
Spurs, who have 3 centre mids + Jenas and a bunch of hot/cold strikers.
City who play without a striker, also have no leader in defense and just like us no passer in midfield.
Liverpool are missing a CB that can pass. Agger is playing at LB.
Liverpool are missing a RB that can defend.
Liverpool are missing a proper CM who can pass out of defence (driving it out or long diagnal does not count)
Liverpool are missing a quality RM.
Liverpool are missing a quality LB.
And that's just the starting XI.
Arsenal are without a good GK but we still played very well without one and look like will might be getting one, we'll see.
Arsenal don't have an established leader in defence, its true but somehow it still works against the small teams at least. Though it might not, we'll see.
Spurs have don't have a great squad but the starting XI is very strong and stronger than Liverpool's. There strikers are hot and cold but against weak teams the midfield is creative enough to create enough chances for it not to show.
ManC don't need to play with a conventional striker if the teams's movement can accommodate it. Adebayor can play as the TM if require and I doubt they will sell him without a replacement.
ManC have Kompany who is shaping up as a leader and looks to have everything needed to do it. Toure is still good at playing the supporting act.
ManC have Silva who could be converted to CM/DPL, Barry whose general passing is better than Gerrard's, Yaya who is Amazing and of course Vieira who has probably the best pass and move game you will see.

Disagree - I think we have a good deep squad but we lack that special player who consistently does it to put us right up there. We don't have the finances to go out and buy a 9/10 player, all we can do is assemble a deep collection of 7-8 out of 10 players, and hope that some can develop into 9/10's...
Then the manager has to be smart shuffling the deck and play the ones who are on form as they can & will play at a 9/10 level for a brief period, and that will push us over the CL threshold. It happened last year, with Defoe, Krancjar, Lennon, Pav & Bale for example all looking like world-beaters at various points through the season. This is where 'Harry did good, making sure it got done by committee.

How good was Hart's double save last night? Haven't seen it yet...
And is my over the top hyping of him for the last year or so now slowly being justified?
