Robbie Savage on the MOTD2 sofa! I woner if he thinks we still need 10-12 players to give ourselves a chance of staying up. Bitter fucker!

Goalkeepers - they've redeemed themselves after last week's shambles. Foster, Jussi and Stockdale were the pick.
Chelsea - 12 goals and none conceded in 2 games is pretty damn impressive. They might have been playing the relegation candidates but they still showed they've got class. I can't see them conceding many this season.
Arsenal - On paper they shouldn't have enough to win the title but Wenger will be delighted with 4 points from the first two games, especially as they were very lacklustre last week against ten men. If they could add a bit more quality and experience to the midfield they would probably be Chelsea's closest rivals this season. I can see them falling short if they don't sign a decent goalkeeper.
Gareth Bale
What a goal. It will be hard for anything to top that this season. It seems as though 'Arry as struck gold with the transformation of the Welshman, he gives Spurs an attacking edge on both flanks which allows them to get results against teams like Stoke where they used to struggle.
Newcastle and Andy Caroll
Tipped to be one to watch this season and Caroll didn't dissapoint in Newcastle's first home game of the season; brilliant hold up play, great feet, confident, strong and a fantastic finisher. Capello must be considering him if he's to introduce a new crop of English talent.
Fulham
Craven Cottage is always a difficult place to go and they've managed to maintain their curse over United. A late own goal would usually be enough to deflate any team vs United but they kept on going and deserved their hard-fought point.

Losers
Referees
Chris Foy's look of utter hopelessness and clear farcical claim that he did not see if the ball was over the line from Walters summed up the declining ability of the so called 'top' referees in the English game. He not only missed a foul on Gomes but couldn't decide whether to give a goal, look for his linesman (who was in a far worse position to see) or do nothing - in the end he did the latter.
Walton was not much better during the course of the Fulham game in which he gave one of the softest penalties ever seen to United whilst moments before got a clear view of Vidic Pulling Moussa Dembele's shirt off in the box but not awarding a penalty. Justice was done in the end, as it sort of was in the Stoke game, but we need to be able to rely on accurate judgement of paid officials rather than fate.
Wigan
A toally shambolic start to the season. 10 goals conceded in 2 games with not even a consolation goal for the fans to shout about. Martinez may be the next Spaniard to be shipped out of the country.
Aston Villa
Oh dear. Things were looking so rosy last weekend, "no manager? Ah well, it's not so bad" they said as West Ham were turned over at Villa Park and James Milner said an emphatic goodbye. On today's evidence, he is going to be sorely missed. Ireland does not have the same defensive capabilities that Milner has and the midfield seemed disjointed and imbalanced. If Carew hadn't of lashed at his penalty like a mad man then things could have been a lot different but Villa weren't good enough today and they need time to pick themselves up from this.
Man United
Chasing Chelsea already. When Michael Owen comes on to try and save a game it must be cause for slight concern.
Richard Keys

Isn't that a bit sad that pro footballers have to do that to motivate themselves ?
c**t that he is, Gray is a pundit and someone asked him for his tips - he has to upset 3 clubs.
I'm sticking with Blackpool, WBA and Stoke.
Starting to think I should have picked WHU though.
On the subject of WHU, whilst he is erratic, Tomkins is a wonderful prospect long term.
Its nice to see that a 2nd WHU manager has seen dropping him as the solution to defensive problems only for Upson and Green to prove that they're the main problem.
You can't drop them 'cos they play for England and they have experience (lots and lots of experience of dropping clangers).

It wasn't the fact Gray picked us to go down that annoyed me, it was his lazy reasoning. He gave us the "same team that went down" garbage, which is the same thing you hear from random know-nothing window lickers. If he didn't watch any championship football last season he should say so and not say one fucking thing about the promoted teams.

Not really. People are enjoying putting this down to Villa being bad, but they weren't bad when they turned over West Ham last week and they turned up for the first half an hour yesterday, but then Newcastle gained confidence and just started passing it around them. They meanwhile were still using O'Neills tactics, hitting the long ball. When this has happened to us in the past all credit has gone to the winning team, even when our team has been much more of a mess than Villa's, so i don't see why this should be treated differently.

Two possible teams for tonight from RAWK sources:
----------------------Reina--------------------------
--Johnson-------Carra--------Skrtel-----------Aurellio---------
-------------------Masch-------Poulsen----------------------
---Kuyt-------------------Gerrard----------------Jovanovic--------
--------------------------Torres--------------------------------------
Or
----------------------Reina--------------------------
--Johnson-------Carra--------Skrtel-----------Aurellio---------
----------------Lucas-------------Gerrard---------------------
---Kuyt-----------------------------------------------Jova------------
------------------Ngog--------------Torres--------------------
The second team didn't even have Masch on the bench which would possibly confirm the Barca rumours but then again he did have a slight injury from the Arsenal game.
I hope it's the first team personally; it has a better balance and is more suited to playing away from home. Could see us getting done on the counter if we play 2 up front with Lucas as our only defensive minded midfielder.

Fuck it.
At least it will be a different performance from the one we are used to with that lineup.
Torres and Ngog aren't really 4-4-2 strikers and Gerrard and Lucas together could be funny but at least we now have a chance of a decent match rather than having ten defensive midfielders on the pitch.

Who cares
It's an interesting selection and there is at least the hope it won't be the usual grinding bullshit performance. Carra won't be as exposed because he only has Tevez to face with Milner and Jinky in support. Nowhere near as bad as it could be if Mancini wasn't the manager.
