True. But he was on the pitch, his presence meant Barca defence have to be more wary. He doesn't have to actually be touching the ball to keep a defender or two occupied - and give keeper at least something to aim for when he kicks out.

Well done to Barcelona. Comfortably the better side over the two legs and deserved winners. Aside from a fairly resolute central defensive performance (for the first hour anyway) I was really disappointed with Arsenal today (and in fairness, Almunia excepted). As so often in these big games they just didn't get going at all. Still, I don't suppose that really matters. It's pretty clear that we were up against more than just a great team today. A referee like that is worth his weight in gold and that red card decision was scandalous.
Arsenal pay the price for taking it too easy in the group stage Rückrunde. If anything, hopefully that's the lesson Wenger takes with him into next season.

Made it through but I'm not happy that despite some good moments, it took a big decision from the ref to finally swing it Barça's way. If they continue like this, they're out in the next round. Especially with this kind of poor away form in Europe.

Barca had a goal disallowed in the first leg that would have put them 2-0 up, and had a penalty not given that could have put them 3-0 up.
But because of one deserved red card in the second leg, somehow the referee is to blame?
Cool. Glad that bias and stupidity is not only alive and well, it is looking increasingly well nourished. Barca should have won this tie about 6-1, Arsenal were lucky to still be in it after 45 minutes of the first leg.

I won't comment referee's decisions, as I don't want to see myself in the corner against a superior opposition; but really disappointed with the way Barca was playing today. For me their only player who did a good job over two legs was Abidal.

Totti has been woeful this season, if he was ever going to achieve anything in the CL it would have been some 5-10 years ago. The comparison is not really fair though, Messi has much better opportunities to shine in the CL when playing for a club like Barca.

I agree that Etoo is better than Villa as an overall striker, but disagree that he's better at finishing. Etoo too had games where he would miss 5 chances but score 2. I'd say they're about equal in that aspect.

I just read Totti didn't even play in the game today, did he?
Anyway, as you said, in his prime Totti could have literally gone to any of the three big clubs in Italy(or even abroad) at any time he wished. I would have loved a prime Totti in Milan, and I'm pretty sure he would have won a few titles as well while being the protagonist.

Actually there were, before the end Messi shot on goal while he was given offside.
