mmh, thought you already knew about that, there was much talk down here about Capello hanging around with Moratti being one of the reasons of Rafa's outburst.bluenine wrote:A pic from CWC at Abu Dhabi... what was Capello doing there?
That could explain the Eur 3m settlement...abundance wrote:mmh, thought you already knew about that, there was much talk down here about Capello hanging around with Moratti being one of the reasons of Rafa's outburst.bluenine wrote:A pic from CWC at Abu Dhabi... what was Capello doing there?
Anyway it could be an innocent thing, Capello's presence at the Club WC was planned since months.
While we are at it, another little bit of information that maybe didn't reach Uk media, which can be useful to understand Benitez behaviour: apparently his contract with Inter had a clause allowing Inter to terminate it without compensations at the end of the season (from May 15th to June 15th)
"Today is not the day," Moratti is quoted as saying by Goal.com Italy. "We will do something and you will get to know more on December 26 or 27."
When questioned whether Leonardo is the man in his mind and whether appointing the Brazilian would be a snub towards arch-rivals Milan, Moratti remarked, "I never make this kind of reasoning, I do not live out of spite.
"And I would be disappointed if it were interpreted in this way."

As abundance mentioned, the milanese rivalry is a bit different from most city rivalries... its not as bitter as some, its more about bragging rights. For most Inter fans, Juventus is a more disliked club than Milan. So while a lot of us are not entirely happy with Leo's "tarnished" past, there is no "street rioting" anger. Its more like a large sarcastic, insulting banner kind of rivalry rather than the "butchered pig's head" kind, if you catch my drift...fcb wrote:And how on earth are you Inter fans so calm about it? I'd be rioting in the street about this. In fact, there *would* be a no-confidence motion against the president. Not only the lack of quality, but the fact that Leonardo's coming to Inter after a long association with your arch-rival. I never understand this about the Milan rivalry - so many players, and now coaches, seemingly swap sides with little anger on either side.

Our "underachieving" argies have won the last 5 Scudetti, including the TREBLE last season... what have your "overachieving" players won in the last 3 years?
fcb wrote:Wow, this shocked me. Not Benitez getting sacked, but Leonardo as the replacement. A technical director turned manager but with only 1 year's experience, when he didn't achieve anything special? WTF? Looks like Moratti is back to his mental days, before Guardiola funded a sensible transfer summer for him last year.

All badly won trophies... nothing great about those last 5 years, infact I would say they are cursed trophies I hope Milan never wins that way.
But my reference is on a larger picture, now Inter like to buy Brazilians maybe more than Argies but I remember when Milan used to have Serginho, Cafu, Kaka, Dida while you guys had the likes of Kily Gonzalez, Veron, Cambiasso all these players who were used to losing not only on a club level but also internationally they always got their asses handed to them.
